Clean, comfortable and generally pretty snazzy. Staff were really helpful and the food was really nice. Good facilities and not far from the city centre.
Stayed for 3 nights. Lovely classy hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean beds and rooms well presented. Fast lifts. As much as you can eat breakfast, although extremely busy, unless you go before 7:30am
Spa facilities are not that great or varied, although fully recommend staying here and would again.
My room looked like a motel room. Beside that cave I had to live in for two weeks I must say that restaurant is great, both breakfast and lunch menu. Reception is also helpful and friendly. Anyway I think they should renovate some rooms or at least drop the price for them.
Really nice hotel, we had breakfast it was the best selection I have ever had at a breakfast in any hotel the food was very tasty and a wide variety of all drinks and food. The staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel itself is quite central to the city and is about a 20 minute walk away from the main shopping area. There are restrooms a bar seating areas a spa and gym. Disabled friendly facilities. Overall very nice hotel I recommend this place to stay.
This was a lovely, friendly hotel. The breakfast was absolutely superb. We would stay there again. It is easy to get to town either by walking or by bus, it is free parking if you have a car. The hotel is quite warm, which is lovely, but when you are dressed in thermals it is quite overbearing. If you are naturally warm it may be worth bringing clothes other than thermals to wear in the hotel.
Good hotel nice staff but a bit of a walk from the main town and a taxi cost 2000 krona about £19 each way for about a 8 minute drive. Good breakfast and good evening meal. Book your room as high up the tower as you can we were on the 10th floor and had great views over the mountains.
We enjoyed this hotel. Room was good. We did breakfast buffet, which was okay and no worse or better than a cruise ship buffet. Staff was attentive and helpful. Happy hour prices were good. We equated the prices there as no different than a stay in New York City.
Had a lovely 3 night break at Grand Hotel. Lovely and clean everywhere. Room a little small for 3 of us. Good location walk into town around 15 mins. You can walk down main road or by the sea which is nice but the wind is very cold. Nice hotel would recommend. Great choice in breakfast and staff all very helpful. Expensive for food but that's Reykjavik in general.
Perfect stay. Room was spacious. Staff was incredible. ~20 minute easy walk to city center. Tours picked us up at hotel. Can't wait to come back.
Check in was a bit of a pain, as they were busy and understaffed at first. The overall stay was great and the room was excellent. We would stay there again. The beds were also very good. Huge down comforters.
Very disappointed with this place. Rooms ok,beds comfortable facilities good. We were out in room 127 which is an atrium room. The noise is ridiculous, sounds like they are in the room. Been here two nights now and the noise from the people drinking goes on past 3/4 and it is impossible to sleep with the noise. We are woke up yesterday from 6:30 and Sunday from 7:30 with the noise outside. We asked to be moved rooms to be told no, you booked atrium there is nothing else available you unless you pay to upgrade to an executive room. He had the wrong attitude however, I travel here quite often but this will be my first and last visit to this hotel
Great hotel! Amazing breakfast with lots of variety. The rooms were big to be economy. We got lucky and got a room with view to the city center.
First off the staff has been wonderful. Yet when we arrived at 1530 our room was not ready yet. Check in was at 1400. We waited, got our luggage checked in to the holding room, and an hour later the room was ready. We got to out room and it was a little warm, nothing to bad. Went out for dinner then came back at 2000 and it was hot. Not sauna hot, but 26°c (80°f) is too warm for a hotel of this stature. The staff tried to help, but all they could do was offer a fan. The A/C had stopped blowing cool air. Again the staff was wonderful but the room was too warm.
Modern rooms. Comfortable beds. Expansive breakfast selection. 15-minute walk to downtown Reykjavik. Staff is friendly and international.
Good spacious rooms. Well equipped. Fair shelf space in bathroom. Quick Lift. Good variety of food. Not far from central Reykjavik, a 5 min. drive.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Room was clean and adequate. A no frills room. But ok. Breakfast was good. It was fine for recuperating from our air trip and having that one day before the tour starts to adjust..
Big modern hotel. This hotel is not in the city centre, but you are in Reykjavik..it is a small city. Big department store within 15 minutes walk. They have business centre with internet, PC and printer. Breakfast is amazing. You can get miso soup. Good isn't ?..
Nice rooms. The hotel is built around a 4-story atrium with a nice bar and places to relax. Interior rooms look over the atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The staff here really make this place shine. They're helpful, courteous, and friendly. The room was amazing too, heated floors, heated towel rack, nice view. I had a great stay!
Very clean and comfortable with large rooms. The hotel is not located right downtown so it is necessary to take a shuttle bus or taxi which is expensive. More shuttle bus times would be helpful. Of course, you can also walk which takes 15 - 20 minutes. The staff are very friendly and helpful with very special cudos going to Frances Hauber, one of the hotel concierges.
The location was in a relatively good spot. But they do have a shuttle that brings you downtown! The lobby was magnificent! The food was delicious. Try the asparagus quiche! It is out of this world. The breakfast buffet was perfect! Rooms were comfortable, along with a heated bathroom floor. The beds were just the right amount of firmness and softness. Will be staying here again in the future!
Nice hotel, well fitted out, room good standard, didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on them. Breakfast is buffet style and pretty comprehensive. Overall a good hotel, but nothing that made it stand out.
A good hotel. Be wary of rooms on the side of the main road if you're a light sleeper. Traffic is noisy. Its fine on the back though. The hotel has a fair size underground car park, useful in the winter. Masses of above ground parking. Bar food was very good, expensive, but hey its Iceland.
