Nice hotel. Perfect location and pretty decent breakfast and rooms. Rooms are not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Good choice overall.

So we stayed at this hotel 3 nights and it was really good if you want to live near the mainstreet, because it is on and in the middle of it! The staff was really freindy but dont to over freindly, on a good level! The breakfast is served from 7-10 and had the bacis stuff. Toast, warm bread, coffee, juice, much fruit! It was some noise from the street so if that you have to account for. The place where you get on the busses to go on tours and to the airport is just around the corner. The hotel dont have a resturang but there are hundreds around on the street but if you have had bought something back to the room, the staff are helpfull, just ask after some knife, forks and plates. Overall a good hotel in the city of Reykjavik!

The first night I arrived, my room, on the 2nd floor overlooking the main shopping street, was loud on the Saturday night by the constant passing of late night revellers up until 5a.m, needleless to say, quality sleep wasent on the cards! My 2nd night stay on Sunday night was very peaceful. Excellent location and comfortable rooms with breakfast and Wi-Fi included.

Very clean, nice room. Wonderfully close to the centre of Reykjavik. The staff are very friendly too. Room cleaned every day, taking care to do so while we were out each time. Breakfast served until 10am. Simple continental style breakfast but very nice.

Rooms are very basic, small and a little dated. But very clean, very friendly staff and a comfy bed go a long way. The breakfast was decent too. Can't beat the location but be prepared for late night noise on the weekends since you're right by all the pubs. Or it could be a perfect place to stumble back to!

I’m very pleased with my stay at center hotel Skjaldbreid! I arrived from a very early flight and was able to check in and get my room right away, as well as enjoy the free breakfast, which was substantial and tasty (pastries, breads, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, etc.) When I booked my stay I was slightly worried about parking but there was ample street parking available during my stay (which you only have to pay for during the day, I was out for most days I was there so didn’t have to pay very often). The bed was super comfy too! Only downsides: small rooms (not a problem for me as I was traveling alone), and thin walls.

Simple, but clean and pleasant hotel, good continental breakfast. Only down side was drunken revellers waking us up from outside about 1.30am every night.

This hotel has exceptional small rooms! However, it's super close to the downtown core and very close to the water. The breakfast was a spread of Icelandic breakfast items (granola, yoghurt, meat, cheese, bread, fruit). Biggest complain would be our room was super hot and stuffy, like no one had opened the window in weeks. The room, bathroom, and dinning area was clean though.

A worn and expensive hotel. Is not a four star hotel. Sound from the corridor and adjacent rooms were disturbing. The breakfast was poor. One had to go up half a floor to get to the lift with heavy bags to get in. What was good was that the hotel is very central in Reykjavik.

Awful "hotel". How it has four stars is a mystery. The room was so small I couldn't close the bathroom door without standing in the shower. It is situated next to a club and obviously has walls made of paper, so sleeping before 04:30 is nearly impossible. Then there was a wake up call at 08:30 when they started vacuuming in the corridor. The room was damp, dirty and had a mouldy smell. A hotel I would gladly recommend to people I hate.

This damp mold-smelling shoe box is not well suited as a hotelroom. The walls appears to be made out of papier maché and I'm seriosly wondering wether the closet has a secret narnia-like entrance to the club next door or if it's in fact placed in the shower and we're just missing the disco light in there. Maybe the dj is hiding under the sink? Oh wait no, the bathroom is way to darn tiny to hide anything. In fact you can't even close the door without practically getting in the shower because it's so claustrophobicly small. I'm just really lucky I'm a small person because someone on the heavy side might not be able to close the door at all. Or move between the bed and the wall in to the room. I have exactly no clue how this card board box managed to get four stars. Is it the shoeshining kit in the wardrobe? Anyway, those stars are not well deserved, in fact they seem like a bad joke because everything about this hotel sucks. Badly.

Bang on the main shopping street, it's perfect for wandering around browsing all the local produce. Has free tea & coffee for guests. Rooms nice. No restaurant but voucher given to eat at three sister restaurants nearby.

Comfortable and convenient with a continental breakfast and all day tea and coffee. Rooms are simplistic but have everything you need for a short city break to Iceland. The staff are incredibly helpful and aware of tours and pickups, if you need information about anything speak to reception.

Clean conveniently located hotel in the center of Reykjavik. 33 room hotel with basic amenities including a sun room that you can sit in the day and drink free tea or coffee. Be aware that the TV channel choice is very limited so you'll want to download media first . The room was very warm and slightly noisy on Saturday night (you're in the center of the city so normal, I guess).
