Carpets teared on stairs creating tripping hazard, really dated, no kettle in the room

Wow. That hotel was the worst hotel ever :D a very poor bang for the buck. The Rooms are super tiny and old. The carpets in the staircase must be from the 70s they're old and totally worn out. There is just one reason why I gave a second star: The receptionist is such an awesome guy!! He always wanted to help and was super funny. Without that dude the hotel would be a really dark place :D

Awful!!!old building,overused bed sheets, blankets and towels so much that they had many kinds of marks on them.moreover i had been charged more money in my card than i booked it online.i would not recommend it for 10500isk per night

The hotel is really well located, right in the city centre. Rooms are quite small and the bathroom is pretty much on a camping level, with a tiny sink and the shower not being separated in any way. There isn't much else but for a few days it can work. We haven't tried breakfast but it was possible to get a continental meal for 1500isk, about 11£ at the moment of writing this review. The cleaning was performed every day although there was a warning on the check in letter, stating that it would be performed 4 days every week. The receptionist was really helpful and called the bus line for us, to book a pick up at the nearest bus station, bus stop n.4.

I booked this hotel through Hotwire and was billed $1073.10 for 7 days. When I arrived I about died. The walk in rate was $413 for 7 days. It's basically a hostel where you get your own room. They had it listed as a 3 star hotel. If you go to this country use Airbnb. You can get a REALLY nice flat with heated floors and luxury everything if you look around. Also, a quick travel tip. Keep in mind that in Iceland pizza and water is $70 US dollars. A burger and fries could be up to $35 at a McDonalds type place. I did not know this until I got there. After 2 days I just stopped looking at the price of things. I was basically just handing over my credit card and trying not to think about how screwed I was going to be.

Breakfast is not free. Have to pay. Room is clean and tidy, however, toilet pretty small and dated. Staff is friendly.

Nice clean hotel. Not for someone looking to all the ammenities. Spare room bed, table thats about it. VERY close to main part of town for shopping and resaurants. Bring own soap, shampoo etc. Staff very good and friendly. Free wifi and common use computer available.

Can a week in Iceland on a budget be possible? We love the Metro! :-) currently being decorated but very warm room with plenty of space and an excellent comfortable bed. The shower is superb, high pressure and hot in a decent en~suite bathroom. The wifi is very good and if you want a couch potato day the satellite tv choices are very good :-) we got room 204 and are more than happy with it, the window has a broken catch and doesn't close entirely but so what!? The cold air is refrigerating our milk and skyr yoghurt on the window sill, while the rest of the room is cosy and warm. The bathroom is a wet room design, so close the shower curtain properly!! Towels changed each time we ask the girl and pleasant reception staff. All for a better price than 3 or 5 nights in a guesthouse with shared bathroom!! The hotel location is excellent, we had a fantastic new years eve in the best area of Reykjavik with a short walk in minus 6 to get back to our room and hot chocolate :-) :-) note, we bring a travel kettle, the drinking water is the best you will ever taste too..
