This hotel was awesome. The breakfast was top notch. Everything you could think of. Rooms all very clean. Shower superb. One of those power showers with a big head. Had a bath too. Alcohol very very expensive but same as the whole of Reykjavik.
Beautiful rooms and views. The upkeep was great. The staff were amazing and helpful. The only issue (if you can call it that) was the heater in our room kept clicking and made it slightly difficult to sleep. Besides that, it was a very nice hotel and I would recommend for anyone travelling to stay here.
Hard to fault this large hotel, its immaculately clean and modern, large rooms with some stunning views and two bars and two restaurants. The location is also first class, quiet in the evening but only 5 minute walk to the main entertainment street. Great choice for business guests and tourists.
Great hotel that’s within an easy stroll to the center of Reykjavík and the harbour. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are well proportioned and designed for restful sleep - nicely carpeted hallways, walls that don’t transfer sound, and blackout curtains. I stayed at a hotel more centrally located on Laugavegur last time I was in Iceland and it was much harder to get a good rest on Friday and Saturday nights. The only odd thing was that the room we were in had a combo body wash shampoo and a hand soap in the shower stall, when you would expect conditioner instead. Bus stop 10 is about a 2-3 minute walk away, so it was easy to take the Airport Direct bus which picks up and drops off from this stop without transferring to a smaller shuttle. I would definitely stay here again!
Great modern hotel with friendly staff. The rooms and communal areas are impeccably clean with good amenities. The breakfast bar has everything you could ask for and gives a good start to the day. The beer garden has an almost overwhelming selection of drinks, but the staff are very knowledgeable and can help you pick the right drink for you. It also had the tastiest hot dog I've ever tasted! The location of the hotel is great, easily within walking distance of most shops and restaurants, and has a bus stop right outside for any tours you might have booked.
Just had a fabulous 4 days at this hotel it begins when you arrive at the reception had Pratrice check us in with a smile and a good morning every day throughout our stay the view from the room was of the harbour a bonus its was cleaned daily to a high standard breakfast was very good and the restaurant food excellent it is situated very close to the shop and pick point for trips is outside the door excellent hotel would highly recommend.
Great buffet selections if your there early then later. Fresh tasty options. Slow drink service
Pretty nice hotel. The night staff and bartenders are really nice, friendly and helpful. We had a few hiccups in our stay but that went the extra mile to make up for it and make sure we had a great time.
Modern clean and comfortable hotel close to the main street and 25 minutes walk to old harbour. Great breakfast selection and good bar with they claim the largest selection (20) of beers in the town. Beers are excellent but at up to £14 a pint in happy hour are pricey. Would stay here again.
The room was clean and beds were comfy. We had a better experience at Foss Hotel Glacier lagoon so our expectations were high. They serve a complimentary breakfast buffet which had good options even for vegetarians. The staff was very friendly.
Clean, comfortable bathroom with bath and separate shower. In room fridge and safe which is not always the case with Iceland hotels. Breakfast is fair. Good location next to most things.
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Cosy, yet modern and contemporary. Amazing location, delicious food and drink throughout, and one of the nicest looking building on the Reykjavik landscape - beautiful and yet very practical to help keep your bearings of this amazing city!
A really nice hotel, with lovely decor in the public areas such as the restaurant and beer garden. Can highly recommend the incredible selection of beers on offer in the beer garden along with their bar menu, and the staff are full of great recommendations. Only downside was the noisy fridge at night and a bobbly mattress cover, other than that I can't fault it!
The service at this hotel is unprofessional and no kind of customer service at all. I arrived very early at the hotel and was told my room wouldn’t be ready til 2pm. So since it was still breakfast time we decided to go have breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. We was seated at a small space and I asked if I can be moved to another table. The lady brings us to a complete empty side of the restaurant we’re no people is sitting and says you have plenty space now. Extremely rude! I went to speak to a manager and he completely brushed me off and said you can speak with someone at the desk. The people so far on my arrival are extremely rude.
Fosshotel was excellent in many ways. The rooms were comfortable, firm beds, heated bathroom floors, refrigerator & coffee maker. There were two restaurants in hotel. We only went to one which was excellent. Staff were very nice & helpful. The hotel was walking distance to main areas for shopping, dining & seeing city sites. Excellent breakfast buffet included daily. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Beautiful hotel located in front of bus, taxi, and siteseeing tour stops. The staff was great, the food outstanding. The breakfast buffet is significant, but crowded. The rooms are great, but can be stuffy if you're facing west. Views of the water offer extraordinary sunsets. I did have a problem with the cleanliness of my room, but they did send up housekeeping staff to resolve that for me.
Very nice accommodations; extremely helpful & knowledgeable staff. The beer place is very nice. The breakfast included with the room was fantastic! We didn't go to the Haust restaurant just because it was so expensive, but it looked nice. Absolutely recommend this hotel.
Comfortable hotel that's centrally located in Reykjavik. Plenty of street parking, and the hotel staff actually suggested street parking as the hotel's underground parking is "the most expensive in the city! And charges throughout the night". Great breakfast buffet spread with hot food, bread selections, salad bar, yogurt and dried fruits & nuts! Great view of the city skyline and the ocean, depending on which side of the building you are located at.
large comfortable hotel. we had a view of the waterfront which was lovely. Breakfast has a good selection. The bar also serves food. Parking in the streets nearby, not expensive. Good central location.
We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. On arrival we were given a tiny room with single beds which was not what we booked. A quick call to reception and they upgraded us to an amazing room that was like an apartment! Good breakfast selection but it does get overcrowded. Excellent choice of beers and wine available at the bar. Helpful staff.
Breakfast was crowded but good. The Beer garden is amazing. The rooms are a good size, but our room was filthy. There was blood splattered on the bathroom wall. You could tell the bathrooms aren't cleaned. We had a thick layer of dust and hair (not ours) I'm the tub, sink, and everywhere else. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. Come to have drinks and dinner in the beer garden and stay elsewhere.
We originally rented an apartment to stay at for our vacation, but the booking fell through. It was 1 AM and we needed a place to sleep 4, and this hotel accommodated us! Although they were booked, the kind lady at the front desk found us a handicap room that fit 4. The room was clean and comfortable, and made our stay in Iceland worry free! Thank you so much
Very nice hotel with good sized clean rooms. Breakfast buffet and beer garden were both excellent. Good location, a short walk from main attractions and city center. Would recommend a stay here.
Great Hotel With nice sized rooms very clean as well. GOOD LOCATION NOT TOO FAR AWAY FROM THE MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS. TASTY BREAKFAST NICE SELECTION OF FRESH FOOD TO CHOOSE FROM. NICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF.
Stayed on the 12th floor. Amazing views of the harbor. Was able to check in early (11:00 AM). Excellent service. Excellent breakfast.
Loved it here very clean and welcoming from the off set. Rooms are well equipped for what you need hair dryer, fridge, TV with English programs and news, kettle and the coffee/tea is replenished daily.
After a long day exploring it's nice to be able to chill in the room or go to one of the hotel bars better go at happy hour tho!
Great hotel. Restaurant food and drink are excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful on all shifts. Rooms are big enough, decent TV, decent bathroom. Harbour view side is very nice. There's a popular bar downstairs with a huge number of ales on tap and free popcorn. Breakfast buffet caters for most styles and was excellent.
Hotel and service was very good. Location was quite central and a lot of attractions were walking distance. Down town is very near. Hotel has 16 floors which great views, I had a ocean view which was amazing. Would recommend to all.
The hotel was clean and the rooms comfortable. The staff was very courteous and spoke English very well, which was not expected but a welcome surprise. The beer garden had a relaxing environment and had an excellent selection of beer and served pretty good food as well. Breakfast was a wide variety of foods that would please most anyone. While I did drink at the bar in the lobby, I spoke with the bartenders and they were open about what things to see and do and the hotel is a short walk to many shops and restaurants. Last but not least I left something in my room when I checked out and they contacted me and mailed it to me. I'd stay again without hesitation.
