Due to construction the pictures online did not match the actual room we were given. We were given incorrect information about check in, notified of the construction the day of arrival, and they tried to downgrade our room.

The absolutely spotless and well appointed apartment was the beginning of a great stay here. The fact that a great view of the fjord, a great local museum, a grocery store, a village pool, and a great restaurant (The Bait Shack) all within a few minutes walking distance sure adds to the attractive ambiance. But even with all of that,it is not the best partthe service is unbeatable! This family owned/operated hotel and the related restaurants are operated in such a wonderful, professional, yet casual and comfortable way that you feel so very welcome and easily at home!
We had a situation where we had asked for services far and above the norm. The staff/family stepped up and provided this exemplary, timely and friendly service without a moment's hesitation.
When we return to the east fjords, (and we will), we are making a point to give this establishment our business, as you should too.
Take it from a person who travels extensively, and knows quality service when he sees it, -this is a real jewel among so many baubles.response / report this review -

We were travelling through Iceland for the week prior to our wedding - we stayed here for a night and we had a great time! Amazing welcome and beautiful apartment :-) our late dinner was fantastic & staff were excellent!! Couldn't ask for anything more and would stay again for sure! :-)

This is an excellent place to eat - I live a paleo-vegan lifestyle and this hotel caters for me perfectly. They always produce a wonderful meal for me served with courtesy and pleasantness. I recommend this hotel/restaurant to vegetarians, vegans, anybody following foody-lifestyle. Wonderful place - go and enjoy

J'ai passé 2 nuits pendant un voyage organisé. Pas d'ascenseur. Escalier extérieur pour accéder aux chambres. Hotel en 2 parties. l'une avec des petits appartements:TB. L'autre pour des personnes voyageant seules: très petite chambre, stores cassés, fuites d'eau. . Au bord du fjord. Vue magnifique.

Apartment-style room was massive and the staff was very friendly. Room had a small balcony overlooking the bay at the foot of the mountains. If you're making a stop here, I would absolutely recommend the drive through Oddsskarð - it was incredible.
