Great location and interior in an idyllic town with beautiful nature all around, and only an hour or two from Reykjavik: ideal to see the countryside on a short visit to Iceland.

One of the best places I stayed at in Iceland! Beats many more expensive places. We stayed in a double room with private bathroom, room was spacious, warm and clean. Kitchen is large and fully equipped, coffee or tea is free all day for the guests and there's a nice and cosy TV room. I would stay here again.

Definitely the best place I've stayed in so far in Iceland (my 4th night here). The room is basic and simple, but it's warm, clean, and comfy, and the bathroom is spacious and placed near to the rooms. What stand out are the common areas -- well-stocked and clean kitchens spread in several places, several sofa and hang out areas, and bright well-lit main dining room. The hostel also provides complimentary coffee and tea -- the coffee machine makes proper cappuccino, loving it!

Very comfortable hostel despite its run down exterior. The lounge and kitchen area were nice to relax in and the dorms were what you would expect. I couldn't seem to find any lockers and the showers were a bit of a let down but this is a low budget place to stay so it helped save a few dollars.

We stayed here after high winds in the peninsula kept us from camping. The owner was incredibly friendly and the place was spacious and clean. There were two kitchens and the beds were comfortable. Nice common areas too! We paid $55 each and had a room to ourselves. Lots of hiking around the area too. Highly recommended.
