When I searched for a place to stay in Reykjavik, this was the cheapest available before you got into shared dorms. As such I didn't expect the Ritz, and the place didn't disappoint. The owner is reserved but friendly, the rooms are clean if a little faded. Bathroom similarly, it wasn't tip top clean but as a shared bathroom it was perfectly usable. And the breakfast was really excellent each day. Refillable cafatiere of coffee, and a buffet spread of cold meats, cheese, cereal, skyr, juices, artisan breads and so on. As a place to rest your head between days in the great Icelandic outdoors, I'd recommend this to anyone.

Excelent for the prize. Very cozy rooms, extremely friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Would reccomend for anyone looking for accommodation on a budge.

Visited Iceland and stayed at alba guesthouse after my grand daughters weddings. Even though they were remodling, found the guesthouse to be warm and cozy. Host was friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was lovely start to our day. Would stay again. Would be like visiting a friends home

Great service, many toilets available, great breakfast everyday with quality ingredients and fresh coffe or tea made for you, comfy rooms & beds, warm place overall. The owner is a very nice guy and always willing to advice if in need. I most definitely recommend and will return here!!! Many thanks!

YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF
Booked a room and then wanted to cancel, but they would not refund my money as said it could not be cancelled, this was not on the booking site at that time but appeared later. Was in contact with the unethical arrogant owner many times with no satisfaction. He then asked me to cancel and would try and fill, this was done but he still would not refund my money, he got paid twice, to me that is stealing and he lied to me. Why he wanted me to cancel was so I would not get a review request.
I am glad I did not stay there as it appears to be a dive of a place.
Never had anything like this happen to me before, have booked hundreds of hotels and had to cancel a few times with no problems or penalty. Do not prepay this place as there is a good chance you will get ripped off

Room middling. Since "THE ICELANDIC PILLOW RATIONING". There is 1pillow per bed luckily you can stuff your towel underneath the ryvita thin "pillow". No en-suite or tv. WiFi limited in lower rooms. Breakfast is small bread options are actually quite good. Owner a bit grumpy.

This guesthouse is a little dumpy and worn. The bed was comfy and the room was clean but the bathroom was old as was the common areas. Breakfast is good. Location is decent but a bit further from the central streets.

I loved my stay at Alba Guesthouse in Reykjavik. The guesthouse is near the city center, is very clean and we had no problems with noise. The breakfast was very good. Really appreciated the coffee there.

about 15 mins away from downtown but close to bus terminal. Breakfast is great. Would recommend it.

I definitely enjoyed my stay here. The breakfast is good. They're a little far from downtown but the bus stop is very close.
