Very mod & funky hotel in a great location for the 3 arena & with the Luas at the front door it's also very convenient for the city centre but far away enough to get a great nights sleep. Food is delicious & staff lovely. Definitely would recommend when staying in Dublin.
Nice place but given the circumstances it just wasn't everything I was hoping for. Not one of these negative people I would actually recommend this place. Just have my own reasons that's all
Good location, convenient for early port departures and very easy to get into the heart of Dublin on the tram line. Breakfast wasn't the best, a good choice and the continental stuff was OK, but the hot food was in the wrong type of containers I think, resulting in steamed rather than crispy bacon and sausage etc. Bar food on the other hand was excellent, the noodle dishes were tasty and a good size. The room was excellent, but there's a building going up right next door and work starts early. So check which side your room is on.
Conveniently located right across the plaza from 3Arena. Rooms are clean and quiet, and the free breakfast buffet was tasty with many hot and cold options. The window in my room opened wide, which was lovely for getting fresh air. I especially liked the under-bed lightingit was a nice touch. The only things missing from the room were a full-length mirror and a pull rod for the curtains -- due to the high ceiling, I couldn't get the curtains fully closed without a pull rod.
Beautiful hotel with excellent design. Loads of natural light and a lovely bed. Great location on the quays with Luas on it's doorstep. Only downside is parking is a little steep.
Nice experience. Lovely staff. Glass of Chardonnay €8 ouch. Room was ok but very stained carpet and duvets both ripped at seams which was not good on entering room. Air conditioning was a gift as weather was unusually warm. Overall enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great and good range of food.
The Gibson Hotel has lovely bars for drinks and food options in the hotel and great views and smoking area on the terrace. Might be crowded after gigs at 3 Arena which is right across from hotel. No gigs - very relaxing!
Very nice hotel in a convenient location on the north side of Dublin center, nearer to the airport than many other four star hotels. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I would gladly return to this hotel anytime I am in Dublin.
Great hotel. Modern, clean and quite funky. Beds really comfortable and great facilities in the rooms. Only problem is the somewhat confusing layout of the floors. It has two outside areas at the bar, both given over to the smokers. Would love the inside area to be smoke free so us nonsmokers can have some outside seats! Best thing about it is that it's right beside the 3 Arena. Excellent! Would stay there again without a second thought.
Hotel is clean, bright and fresh. Rooms are nice. Front desk staff needs some training on what a hotels first policy should be.."do what we can within our power to accommodate the needs of the customer." A booking mishap resulted in far too many "our policy is" conversations when I just needed to find a room to sleep in after having been traveling for 18 hours. While the error was not the hotels, nor mine, the response letting me wishing I could find somewhere else with availability to stay.
We had a fabulous stay. A real trendy and funky hotel. Love all your ideas. Hotel is so clean and fresh. Love the design. Very like Barcelo. Barcelona sants. Loved the hotel. Fab atmosphere 100% would recommend this hotel
The grounds and hotel itself are faultless however food quality has dropped since my first visit. All hotel staff seem very polite and well trained.
The hotel itself is built on top of a shopping center at 'The Point'. The shopping center itself is empty with the exception of a Odeon cinema and coffee shop. Feels a little like 'Dawn of the dead'. This in no way retracts from the hotel itself. It has it's own elevator and entrance. If you are not the explorer type you would never know.
Rooms are always clean and smart. The are spacious and are equally as good as the Marker down the road. both are the best Dublin has to offer. If it's a great room you want then this is perfect.
Food quality is lacking.
First morning cooked breakfast was terrible. Scrambled eggs tasted of curdled milk and made me feel quite ill. I had to leave it and go without.
The rest of the breakfast items are as expected for this type of hotel. They don't offer option for vegetarian sausages like other similar hotels. shame. I highly recommend you ask them to cook some poached eggs. they take a long time to come out but are worth the wait.
Evening dining was no better. Restaurant was closed due to low numbers (No surprise) and they were offering restraint meals in the bar area. I opted for the 28 day aged Hereford rib eye steak. It cost something like 40 Euro. To be perfectly honest it was a disappointment. The cut of meat was bad and you would expect a 28 day aged piece of meat to have taste. This had none. If I had cooked this I would have been disappointed and probably thrown it away uneaten.
In addition I hate it when places hide food with fancy names for no reason. 'bloody mary plum' they just mean a standard tomatoes that's been slightly grilled. Nothing special and not a plumb tomatoes.
Highly recommended as a hotel.
Cannot recommend food.
Good location and handy but a bit expensive for what you get. Food at the restaurant could be improved and be more like the price. Bar is alright for beers and spirits but forget about cocktails, just not good cocktails. Food is really crap, did I mentioned already that? Not many options and they are trying to be fancy asian exotic food but it is actually a very poor quality and not fancy at all. I have ordered everything from the eternal menu and nothing absolutely nothing is well cooked. Sorry guys but someone has to tell you and I already did it to the staff many times. I'm not the sort of customer that I'll be polite happy with whatever food, specially when it is also expensive. The rooms are comfy anyway.
Perfect for gigs in three arena, across the yard and handy for parking for rugby, soccer or gigs in Aviva stadium. Friendly helpful staff, good night's sleep on the beds and roomy rainfall shower to waken you in the morning. Bottled water, tea or coffee in the room with an iron and board in the wardrobe if needed. The bar is a bit expensive and I have had trouble with the car park wanting €30 having already paid the hotel €14 for parking, sorted of course but a pain having to return to reception the last 2 stays here.
