The food in the restaurant was excellent, but quite pricey. The hotel itself is quite dated and has millions of stairs from place to place, but the carpet on them is comfy. Good sized room for city center though. Our twin room had two small beds but a large closet area and big bathroom. We needed a place in Kilkenny and this fit the bill. Only a few minutes walking to several attractions, including Rothe House, Smithwick's Experience, and Kilkenny Castle and Gardens. Couldn't complain.

On first impressions the hotel was a touch dingey, the paint on the outside could be retouched. Our room was up about 4 flights of stairs. The room itself was lovely,spacious and warm the ensuite was large and clean.
Breakfast was included.
Only concern would be it's not wheelchair accessible due to the vast amount of stairs. I didn't see a lift.

Definitely basic. Very clean and comfortable though, the staff were brilliant and did everything to make our stay enjoyable they would get 5 stars from me

I stayed one night in this hotel and would not recommend to anyone. The rooms were dated and dirty,the hotel would be advised to spend some money and get the rooms up to a standard that reflects the cost per night, in my opinion 180 euro was not worth the standard .The dining area was neat,breakfast and staff was perfect.
The location was ideal, probably the best part.Would i stay in this hotel again NO.

Very gracious staff/hosts! Made sandwiches for us because we were heading out early and would miss the scheduled breakfast. Very convenient location and parking. Very pleasant stay!

Mixed feelings about this hotel. It's in a great location in the centre of town with free parking. It's a quirky old building. The dining room is lovely and the breakfast was good. Our room was in the annex at the back and quite frankly hadn't seen a duster for a long time! The bath was rusty and the room needed a bit of tlc. We don't mind old and quirky or shabby chic but we do like clean!

Love this little hotel!!! Free and awesome breakfast included. It's not fancy but it's nice for quick trips when you come to explore the town. I would definitely stay here again. Walkable to everything super friendly staff!

Just wanted a roof over our heads for a stag night. Hotel is quite old and facilities match. Bar staff friendly and a good breakfast.

Odd hamster like maze hotel with shoddy wifi and plumbing. Rooms are clean but the hotel itself is quite dated. No elevator and multiple stairs to carry your luggage. Parking included, nice bar and dining room.

Room was very basic and badly in need of some renovation, but it was clean. The food was simple food, cooked very very well. I had lamb cutlets that were fantastically cooked. The breakfast was also very nice. Superb value for the price we paid and a very convenient city centre location.
