We spent a night here in a seafront room on 05/11 and it was great. We had read a cpl of reviews that did not say a lot but we couldn't fault it and especially for the price.
Aine in the spa gave us great treatments, Kelly and Savannah at reception and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Food was tasty, breakfast fine tho the bacon could sit less in the holder.
We even had a chat with Sean on checkout. We will hope to take advantage of 1 of their offers again.
Enjoyed short break here with my husband. Staff very helpful. Room spacious and very clean. Food was great. I would gladly go back there again.
We are frequent visitors to the Holyrood Hotel and we love staying here, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the new refurbished wing of the hotel this time and our room was beautiful, very clean, warm and a great view. Food is also always top notch. Very happy !
Total let down from start to finish;
- Our room was given to someone else because they took the wrong contact details and payment details from us and that the Hotel was booked out. We were told at time of booking that we would pay when we arrived. They tried & failed to take payment about 2 days before we arrived without our knowledge. We eventually got a room when they shifted someone to another Hotel in Town.
-Room was smelling of smoke or something like that. The double glazing was all steamed up between panes, so we could not see out. Good job as we had just got a view of a wall. The "double" was very small and felt like i was going to fall out of bed.
-Dinner in Restaurant was very bad (6pm seating). Took ages to get our main course as i think they forgot about us. Everyone else were near finished their tea/coffee while we were starving. The main course was tastless and "beef" was like rubber. My pasta was horrible but ate half it anyway because i just needed to eat something.
-Leasure centre, need to install lockable lockers to keep valuables safe and the steam room was out of service. Jacuzzi needs a good clean out. Full of sand and material that kept sticking to me. Just put me right off. I never even bothered entering the pool.
- The back massage treatment was great. I would highly recommend it.
We thought we were getting a great 2night stay deal, but we should have paid more for somewhere else. We will not be staying at this Hotel again. Sorry for the bad review, but too many parts of our experience, were bad.
Fantastic and friendly atmosphere and the staff are so helpful. Food and the live entertainment each night is brilliant. Spa treatments to die for and value for money.
Nice hotel, just 2 concerns I have. Firstly myself & my family spent several days there. We specifically asked days before arrival to be placed on the 1st floor because it's one level, instead they put us on the 2nd which you have to negotiate several small flights of stairs. I don't have a problem with climbing up & down stairs but when you have a small child in a pram and carrying luggage it soon became a problem, in fact it was a nightmare.
Secondly my son who is autistic injured himself in the hotel, be bent his finger in a way that it stretched tendons. His finger had swollen and started to bruise, we thought it was broken. We approached the receptionist & asked to see a First Aider, the reply we got was there isn't one, there is a pharmacy across the street. Now were I'm from it is employment law to have a qualified First Aider. I can't understand why they don't have one, it doesn't cost much to get one or two members of staff trained.
Nice Hotel, great location. Excellent kids club, our son had a ball. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Bar food was very good.
Great hotel especially for families as they have a night time kids club..
ONLY BAD thing was the kids play park was cover in stones and my child went down the slide and landed in the rough stones cutting her whole back, bum and legs we didn't bring it up with management so can't complain too much but they would need to fix the problem before someone is even more seriously hurt.
Loving this place. We arrived yesterday and our room is great and the location even better. Room has 2 double beds and a pull out double room. I've seen some reviews saying they had dirty bathrooms ours was spotless. Food is fantastic and the kids club is excellent. The bar is lovely and the Guinness is great. Not a bad price for a hotel.
Very dated rooms . Strong smell of cigarettes . Pool was very merky not been cleaned in a long time. Changing rooms smell like sewage. Service very slow and forgetful would not recommend here. Kids club is great and staff are friendly but that's all it has going for it . 2017
Not sure when things seemed to go wrong, but a few weeks ago we took friends and there kids up for lunch and had the worst experience we have ever had in a hotel.
Asked for kids menu or any menu and was looked at if I had horns on my head then was hoping to get a wheat free menu and was told there was only braising steak , okay then ask for a children's meal and was told that we only serve kid meals to kid , well beg my pardon but if you look over your 6 foot glass heated counter you will find a 2ft 6 year old standing in between his ma and pa , so we continued will our order our meals which was teasty but for a 6 year old it was horrible, as we were leaving we discovered that there was two further menus that we could have ordered from but you know what never again. . we will just eat at good old KFC , sorry Holyrood but this was really bad.
Very big, old fashioned hotel with lovely atmosphere. More than friendly staff, nice bar food menu and great breakfast selection. The rooms are big and beds are very comfortable, all linen including the towels are spotless. However, The hotel is very tired and a bit jaded and needs tons of money for a major facelift. Decor mainly and sealants around baths sinks and toilets. Bedroom furniture needs renewed too. Apart from that it's great. We used the spa for facialsAwesome!! Would stay here again if we were in Bundoran
was a horrible experience. hotel room was dirty and found someones underwear in my bin. the bath had a big crack up in it. there was dirt every where and was very run down and dated. the room was cold. no one came to re fresh our room on the next morning of our stay and i had to run round looking for towels and milk. also the stay i booked ended up costing more when i got to reception on my arrival to stay i wouldn't of paid this only i drove the whole way from Derry and had no where else to stay. also the spa treatments that were advertised weren't even there. my partner had to do the same treatment as me although he didn't want to because they took the other treatment away without letting us know. also when we ended up getting sea weed baths the m bath was dirty i had to stand and wash it out first. over all my stay was terrible. we stayed for two nights and was terrible. We both spent a lot of money coming here to this hotel and were really unimpressed. also the food we received in the bar as part of our deal was not nice at all I got the pasta for my main course. it wasn't nice at all my full dinner wasn't even eaten I had to go to a chippy across the street after to be feed. There were several lamps in our room 2 worked 2 other didn't and one didn't even have a light bulb. seriously staff needs to be more attentive towards the rooms.
also it is ridiculous to let the public in when your using the swimming facilities. we were over run by people we had to leave. I was not impressed.
I would like to receive would back about this and whats going to happen
Impressive location in the townmassive building - plenty of bars & food served. We only stopped for a tea and to have a little look around the hotel :) All good!! Hopefully get to stay sometime.
