Disappointing stay, the hotel has a lovely stone exterior but overall was a big let down. The heat didn't work in our room, the staff were friendly and tried their best but were very disorganised and seemed inadequately trained, especially at dinner and breakfast. Food in the restaurant was mediocre at best, I liked my dish but most of the rest of our group didn't like theirs. Rooms in one wing of the hotel are accessed through the restaurant, so while trying to enjoy a quiet dinner you have a constant stream of people (& kids) passing by your table, not exactly the atmosphere you'd expect in a good restaurant. Lots of other little minor gripes that I won't mention, but overall its not at a 4 star hotel level. Haven't stayed in any of the other Clayton hotels before and won't if they are similar to this.

Staff were lovely. The pamper package was very good. However, the bar food was poor and service for breakfast was hit and miss, with raw fried potatoes! The main room in our family room was lovely as was the additional joining room but unfortunately we were able to hear our next door neighbours to this room loud and clear!. Overall, it served the purpose but there are a few areas that could be improved upon.

    Attended a Wedding here

Stayed in a family suite. Great facilities including leisure facilities. Good Food especially breakfast. Very Friendly Staff Fantastic Building Grounds and Wedding Venue
The only thing I would recommend is there was only two of us staying in the suite. If I was with a young family there was a lot of wasted space in the hallway where some armchairs could be placed for the adults while the kids went to sleep. I have been in that situation and it would be very helpful

    Love this hotel!
They are eager to help and do what they can for everyone. Lots of little thoughtful torches.
    Food is fantastic! Coffee amazing!
But the friendliness of the staff is what I will remember most ❤️
Well done Clayton Hotel, Sligo 👏👏👏👏

I stayed in the Clayton as part of a business trip. The room was nice but cold and noisy - it was also really far away from reception. I had a couple of bags with me and was met with lots of obstacles along the way - good few doors to open etc. I think there was a kids club nearby because there was screaming children for a few hours in the evening, which made it hard to do work. Apart from that the room was comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar food was nice but the bar itself was freezing cold. Breakfast was really nice with lots of fresh fruit to choose from. Poached eggs were no problem so that was great. If I had a different room with a heater this would have been a great stay.

On a positive note, ALL staff 10/10. courteous, very friendly, helpful, cheerful.
We had quite a brief stay, arriving 7pm or so and leaving by about midday. I wasn't overly happy about the bedroom on -1 with a frosted window because it looked out on concrete. At no time when IN the hotel, did I get a sense of the beautiful building we were in. Bad idea; everyone arriving and departing having to go through the dining room.

We were down for a 2 day family break prior to the kids returning to school. Very family friendly, pool is ideal for kids (they really enjoyed the inflatable dragon!!) Nice relaxed atmosphere in the hotel, food in the bar was okay while the breakfast was very tasty and varied. We will be back!

    Fab family suite.. excellent size.

Clean but still looked like it needed a good hoovering. Would recommend larger size bin in kitchen area for nappies. Room service also required to empty kitchen faculty of dirty plates etc.kids sensory room and playroom excellent . Kids pool great. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the pool and our bedroom was perfect as it made it easy to get them to sleep due to the interlinked rooms.
I think the food lets the place down a bit. We ate in the bar both evenings which was ok but nothing special but it suited us to dine in the hotel. I got a glass of white wine one evening which was warm. The cooked breakfast was very poor. On the second morning the scrambled eggs were grey and in big hard lumps, the rashers were stuck together and the sausages were cold. We were down for breakfast just before 9 and the restaurant was very busy so I can't understand why the food wasn't fresh. We did enjoy our stay and the staff were all lovely but I feel some work is needed on the food and beverage side of things.

Myself and my family recently stayed at the Clayton hotel and found it most pleasant. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The kids loved it especially the pool and the crazy golf. It's a 15 minuted walk into the town which is the only downside I could find as there was nothing near the hotel. Would definitely return hopefully when the weather is better.

Our room was smelly and cold. This was eventually corrected the next day by a plumber. The bed linen on the bed was not the correct size for the bed as the cover and sheet did not fit properly and moved as soon as you got in to bed. Our food in the bar was very poor - the burger was actually burnt. We made a decision to eat outside the hotel, As we were at the Chess competition we were in the hotel a lot more so the reception area was an important area, it was cold and the doors were always open. To access your room via the restaurant was both off putting and strange.
The showers in the swimming pool also had a strong smell of drains, so we decided not to take our son down to the pool as we were concerned if he should pick up any bugs.

Exceptionally friendly staff, amazing breakfast, and tidy, fresh rooms. Loved every second of our stay. Also, very close to the town center and roadways which was very convenient. I highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights last week with my mother. From the moment we checked in the service was impeccable.
We had treatments booked for the same day, I myself had the pleasure of meeting a lovely girl called Emma! She is amazing at her job, she makes sure that throughout your treatment you are relaxed and comfortable. This spa has such a great atmosphere.
We had two meals in the Kudos restaurant, again the staff where so helpful. There was one amazing girl in particular, Jenny. She is an asset and nothing was a bother to her, so friendly and really made the difference to our dining experience both nights. The food was delicious on both nights also.
Overall a lovely time spent with my mum in a lovely place. I hope the hotel management realise what a difference staff can make to a stay. thank you.
