There's a generalized feeling of distrust towards Americans when entering and exiting the grounds. Owner acts as if he's doing me a favor by saying he could've charged us more with fees. Overall bad customer service. Should be much more accommodating and respectful. It's a shame because the grounds are definitely nice and could've been a much nicer experience.

Lovely spot in San Pedro with well tended gardens, friendly staff, a pool and lake access with kayaks and hammocks. Rooms basic but comfortable and close to restaurants and bars. Great view of Volcán San Pedro adjacent.

The service was quick and informative. The common and lounge areas are beautifully kept and really allow you to relax and enjoy the sun and the views of the lake. The room was clean and everything worked properly. This was definitely our most enjoyable stay of the trip!

I stayed with 4 other family members. The room was clean and all the information I needed was nicely printed in a folder, not only with info for hotel, but for activities around the area. The hotel was beautiful! It had a tremendous variety of plants and the view was amazing. The pool was warm and surrounded by plant life. Staff was informative and friendly. I look forward to staying in this hotel on my next visit.

My wife and I, along with my adult daughter and her friend spent 2 nights last week at the lovely Hotel Sakcari El Amanecer in San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala. We had a double room on the top floor, and another double on the garden floor.

The place is quaint, with the view of the lake and the amazing staff being, by far the best attributes. It doesn't have a restaurant, which is not really a problem as there are many places to eat within a 2 minute walk from there. The rooms are sparse, but comfortable, all with a phenomenal view. Our only complaint was the noise. There apparently is no insulation in the walls, meaning that we could hear everything happening in the room next to ours and outside.

Parking is a couple of blocks away at an Internet Cafe (20Q/day), a good deal considering that it is enclosed and guarded 24/7. They will help you with your luggage to/from the parking lot.

I would definitely stay there next time I go to San Pedro.

Hotel Amanecer is a must if you are going to visit San Pedro, La Laguna. The rooms are comfortable, clean and most have a stunning view of Lake Atitlan. The workers are very attentive.

Very chilled out vibe. Owner was friendly and quick to offer his knowledge about the area. Free tea and coffee. Free kayaks to use. Small clean swimming pool to use which was very refreshing. Cheap beer available st the hotel.
Room had everything you required including fridge and tv. Shower was ok but sometimes didn't stay hot. Hotel was on water front and very close to everything you require with nice peaceful gardens

Great views of the lake from most room. Expansive front lawn. Great staff. Environmentally conscious, no harm to the lake. Supplemental Solar power. Hot showers. Good Wi-Fi in probably all rooms

My friends and I stay for semana santa and we had a relly great time relaxing and with an awesome view of the lake, the pool is pretty cool also and I really enjoy kayaking!!

Great location with an awesome view on the lake Atitlan. Nice staff and beautiful garden landscape. Free WiFi and coffee was prepared and free when we awoke. Although the eco hotel room had some character, it could be a bit better. We expect things will improve over time.

A very nice, clean hotel with great views, firm beds and exceptional hot water showers. I had a lake front room with gorgeous views by night or day!

The staff are very friendly and helpful and Luis the gardener is an artist with beautiful landscaping, a large variety of well-tended plants. The freshly brewed morning coffee also provided is a great start to go with the view.

The rooms are basic furnishings, firm but good quality beds and extra blankets for when the wind blows off the lake. Although far enough away from the street noise, the rooms are not insulated from the room to room and outside to inside noise so bring earplugs (like all of Guatemala) if you are easily disturbed.

The facilities include and outdoor pool (never tried) hammocks (great!) and kayaks. I recommend taking out a kayak if the water is calm to explore San Pedro from the water side to see the properties and gardens, the fishermen and the people using the lake.

There are many great places to eat on either side of the hotel and no need to wander further than 3 or 4 minutes for a good selection.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic lake views. Huge beds and real shower. Tons of hammocks and places to chill plus a pool and free kayak hire. We came for two days and stayed for eight. Highly recommended!

I was there with a group of Physical therapy students for about a week, and the place was AMAZING! Every morning I would open my curtains to see a gorgeous sun rising over the lake right in front of my room!! The hotel is right next to plenty of bars and places to eat. Ask the front desk about massages that are offered!
