It's situated in old building and has a character. Breakfast was good. The only drawback was our room. It was tiny, but it's tolerable. But it was hot inside the room and the only way to get some fresh air was to keep the door open overnight.
Nice hotel in the heart of Tallinn. Very authentic in an old building. Good rooms, but breakfast could be better.
Great hotel. Friendly staff, good service. Not a problem for myself, but there was no lift between floors. In a lovely part of Tallinn.
Of course a lot of things could be improved but for the ratio price and nice infrastructure we put 5 stars. We could almost feel like queen and king (0:
Interior is great, a lot of art hanging on the walls and rooms are nice and clean. Rooms were way too warm tho (we visited in December). Orienteering around the halls were quite complicated. The breakfast choice was rather poor (not very great selection and don't prepare to have a any amazing food experience). Also there was a lot of smoking in front of the entrance, which was quite disturbing for a non-smoker.
Paid for a 4 star hotel but because of greedy overbooking was taken to a 1 star hostel with lousy service, small room and useless breakfast. Asked for compensation and was given a hideous 1euro bottle of wine. Asked to speak with the manager but he/she never bothered to show his/her face. I highly recommend not to go to this hotel.
No noise cancellation in rooms. My room had no windows, just one over-the-door window to the lobby where I could hear people taking all night. The room floor was dirty. The location is perfect but I'd never stay there again.
Never ever allow yourself to be placed into room 220. Especially over the weekend. Nightclub is right next to the hotel. U'll hear it till 5 in the morning Smoking area is right in front of your window. Rooms are fine in general but none from staff will ever smile to you. Most of the staff speaks Russian and expects you to speak as well.
They did not read the booking information properly, so we were given a room with 1 double bed for 3 people, instead of a family room (double bed and fold down). The alternative room is facing roadside near a night club, so could not have the window open on a very warm night. Appreciate it's an old building so no air con but there were no fans available. The fold up is very uncomfortable. Very little sleep had by all. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, not expected from a supposed 4* hotel. Would definitely not stay here again.
If lucky with room, this may be ok place to stay. If unlucky, you'll get room without any opening outside including no fresh air. Location is great.
A major disappointment. When we arrived, the room wasn't ready (two hours after it was supposed to be). The supposed substitute was a tiny mansard with about 30 °C temperature. Of course, the AC was broken. Everything is pretty run down in general. For example, the shower had considrable cracks in the tiles and joints, which means that there is probably mold in the wall. That would explain the foul smell in the entire hotel room.
The beds were uncomfortable, giving us backaches already after the first night. On two occasions – within 3 days – the staff just barged into the room without bothering to wait for an answer after knocking. The walls are paper thin, you can pretty much hear your neighbour brathe. And we were lucky that we didn't stay over the weekend, when the karaoke bar in the basement goes berserk.
Oh, and the breakfast is substandard too. So is the WiFi (it only worked when I placed my laptop in a certain corner in a very specific position).
In short: This is by now means a four star hotel, unless an ancient TV and daily fresh towels are the defining factor for the category. I strongly advise you to keep your distance.
Lovely hotel! Really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful and friendly, they all spoke good English. You deffo need a map when navigating around the hotel..its querky corridors and stair cases are like amaze! we stayed in (jnr suite) wasnt quite what we were expecting.. although it was clean, tidy and well presented.. it was tiny. For the money we paid id of expected something bigger. My only real critism would be the view of the old court yard area, that our room over looked.. pictured below it was a disappointing view, that let the hotel down other than that, we had a comfy and pleasant stay
The rooms smelled really bad and moldy and made everyone feel sick. In the room there was only one working outlet and none of the bed side lamps worked. Also the whole building is like a labyrint and probably really dangerous in case of a fire
Good hotel in the Old Town of Tallinn. The room we had was off the courtyard, not all too big but nice and quiet. Breakfast was decent, although they start cleaning up pretty soon after the stated breakfast time. Minibar and safe in the room. There's a disco/club next to the hotel and some rooms are next to it, avoid these if at all possible.
Great location, okay rooms. Breakfast wasn't anything special
Great location. Affordable rooms
Bit strange arhitecture in 3rd floor, but very satisfying breakfast.
Pictures online can often lie about the actual size of the room. The quality is still quite good but sometimes personell can disappoint. It is in fact a Russian character hotel with the Russian breakfast buffet as well.
eclectic hotel .. small rooms .. but externally clean. amazing location. large simple but great breakfast both hot and cold selections
