Nice resort. Good rooms, good food, you gotta do the all inclusive option. All inclusive includes a bunch of water sports

The place was beautiful. Decent food. Had to make the most of what u could get from a buffer style restaurant. Deff a family place but people can smoke wherever they want. And they were pretty limiting on towels that u could use.

Went here for a week for my spring break and was beyond disappointed. People say the rooms are large, but they are not! The room was so small, the bedding was dirty when we got to our room. The shower, had no door which led to our bathroom and hallway being flooded. The bar had such small drinks, and all the daiquiris and colada's were watery and milky, they were terrible. The food was all steamed, breakfast all you could really eat was fruit because the omelet bar line was crazy. The only good food place was an Italian restaurant other than that the good food was on the excursions that we attended (waterfalls and VIP Paradise Island which were amazing and I would recommend). The company is opening a new resort about 5 minutes away, and the workers push you everyday to check out the resort and they do not like no for an answer! We asked for a room upgrade the first day (Saturday) they said they would call us on Monday and they never got back to us so we had to deal with the small room. Many resorts have stocked fridges and all you get in your room is room temperature water, that you have to make do cause you shouldn't use the sink water for anything. I would 100% go back to the DR but never ever again to a Wyndham Resort!!!!! Do you research on places and truly be careful of pictures and what people say, because this place was opposite of pictures and what people said, disappointed and would not recommend to anybody!

Two separate worlds between check in and the rest of the resort. Check in staff need some remedial customer service training. Everyone else was great, cheerful and helpful.

Travelling with family of eight, ranging from 13 to 80 years old. We are usually understanding of complications during check in. And sometimes rooms are not ready. But the way our situation was communicated to us was terrible. Originally told we had the rooms all next to each other. Later told one of the rooms had mechanical issues. But then we saw it was given to someone else. Then the grandparents had to continue to wait for their room. Eventually being given a key for a different building. We explained that they needed to be close by, they needed our assistance. Manager grumbled and acted like there was nothing that could be done. Eventually handed over a key for a room just down the hall. If he just told us that he was working to fix the issue our mood would have been much better.

Inside the resort, everyone was cheerful and helpful. It was a great resort for our family. Not too big and easy to find family members. Food was decent and mixing it up with some of the non-buffet restaurants made it a bit more interesting. Buffet was a bit repetitive. Similar foods, music repeated and morning dance were the same every day. Made it feel a bit like ground hog day.

Rooms were nice, air con worked well but we preferred to turn it off and open the windows.

Beach was really nice and great to walk along. Lots of big waves and wind made it great for the kitesurfers but not good for swimming or snorkeling.

If we wouldn't have to deal with the front desk again, we would be back.

Nice hotel with nice rooms, very friendly staff also so where happy to stay there for two weeks. Great beach and nice drinks as well.
The Animation ( entertainment ) team were very good as well and did a lot to keep the guests having fun, kids also seemed to love them.

Food from the all inclusive buffé was not very good. Taste was bland and also me and my partner had a lot of stomach issues for a lot of our stay. But I'd say this is subjective and a lot of people seemed to enjoy the food so may not be others experience.

The shower was not good either since it was either boiling hot or ice cold with almost no pressure. Staff had our room for 4 hours to rectify this but this didn't help.

My family and I stay at resorts frequently and have visited all corners or DR but I must confess I expected much more from "Wyndham" the grounds lacked care there were pools of water all over caused by open water sports in the gardens. These pools of water were loaded with mosquitoes and melly green Mose. The food was not bad but nothing to brage about. The dessert was generic like the came from the local supermarket. The admin staff were very friendly and failed customer service 101. All in all the only part of this trip I truly enjoyed was a animation team amazing group of extremely hard workingand talented young people.

These guys are very rude. No other hotel in vicinity put up benches and umbrellas on beach proper except them and ask you to walk around it. Everyone vacationing here walk/run on beach, which is public, but when you pass by this place you have to circumvent or get stopped by the vendors clearly selling to this crowd. The patrol guard chasing your away on their front entrance - mind you that's the way from the road to the public beach. They charge 4x of surrounding hotels, presumably in part to "security" (which BTW no other hotel nearby seem to needs them) and to their "brand." The beach is public and there are tons of nice places around, Cabarete is a town with tons of American/European expats and water sport enthusiasts, not center of some drug cartel, everyone else is chilling, so not sure why the hotel chain feel the need to put on this act and act inconsiderate to all others in town.

I loved everything about it. Although it was my very first resort holiday. The Construction next door, the smell of the creek, and vendors harrasing you on the beach (which happens at almost every resort beach) were the only things I would complain about, but I'm not because I made every day a positive day. When you go on vacation you should focus on the amazing things that are around you and not on 3 slightly negative things compared to the 10 other fantastic things that come with an all inclusive resort vacation. Especially if you got a fantastic price. This place was amazing. The entertainers were so much laughs and fun. They really take care of you. Everyone is friendly and wonderful. I would recommend it 100% for sure.

I had the WORST experience at this resort!I am a frequent traveller that travels all over the world. I have to say this is the WORST RESORT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.

    CAUTION STAY AWAY!!

I had an accident on the resort, where I fell because of lack of health and safety on their resort. The fall could have been avoided if they had lights or signs up, to prevent the injury from taking place. I could have died as i feel more then 6 ft. If you have kids, keep them away from this place. When I told management they denied and changed up my story to the travel provider because they didnt want to take any liability even tho it was their fault. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I asked for refund, and everytime they change up their story. Some rooms don't even have the basic utilities like a phone, and if they do the phone jack is just a hole on the wall, i have so many pictures of the lack of health and safety.

A friend even had money stolen from their safe in the room, when he came into the room the safe was open and things missing.

STAY AWAY!! give your money to a resort that deserves your hard earned money.

A small and clean resort, upgrade to superior and request the main building. The waves are great to play in with no under tow. The beach is soft sand with no seaweed. The staff is super friendly. Downside, only 1 bar so take your own beverage container to fill as theirs are very small and you wait a long time. This applies to pop and water too.

If you get tired of the buffet it's only a 15 minute walk up the beach to all the restaurants on the beach. Or out the front door and down a block is a supermarket and dollar store.

People of the town are super friendly too.

Hotel in in the middle of a horseshoe shaped bay on the ocean. Great for long walks. Very safe!!!

This was our second visit and it only got better for us.

Okay let's see my boyfriend and I weren't too excited about this resort just over a few things .
We do travel atleast 2 or 3 times a year for our getaways so we know what we like =).
Not saying this resort was horrible or anything, just a few things we weren't happy about..

    * no seafood whatsoever at the buffet. no seafood ! ( my boyfriend and I are solid seafood lovers ).. Not even a single shrimp
BUT! There were fish dishes at the a la carte resturants and were pretty decent meals.
    * the beach vendors SO ANNOYING.. (and that's our fault for not doing our research) .. But this beach is a PUBLIC beach, meaning locals are allowed on the beach to sell their merchandise such as necklaces, bracelets, cigars, even offer massages and hair braiding.. it gets annoying because they persistently ask every 30 mins at least, same person or not, but they always ask even when you say no.
And if you do buy something, like cigars or hand made bracelets which we did , the same person would come up to us every day to buy more !
Like jeez. I know it's their only source of money but it gets annoying . It got to the point where we pretended to be sleeping so they'll walk right pass us.
*Entertainment majority of the time, the music being played was outdated, seem like it was the same CD being playing all the time and the music wasnt constantly played. They would turn it off for hours . Which was weird
*Late check out our flight was at 845 pm so we had to check out at 12pm and our shuttle bus to the airport was for 515pm at other resorts we had the option to have a late check out (usually until 4pm or 5pm) which is amazing! Especially if you have a late flight. Than you'll get to enjoy the beach/pool. Have lunch and be all showered and clean for your flight home .. ideal right?.. But not at this resort. They dont offer the late check out which is lame They do offer you to have the room for an extra hour which is pointless. But whatever

    and I think that's it =).
Remember, those pointers were just things we didn't like about this resort but! The resort was pretty decent and we had a great time . The room was always clean with fresh towels and a made bed. Comfy bed and soft, fluffy pillows. The customer service from the table servers was amazing and always topped up our coffee and drinks .
The food at the buffet was okay. Nothing outrageous or over the top but it was decent. The pizza was on point! And the beans !.

Pros, Beautiful place on the beach with fantastic dinners (you have to make a reservation by 3). Multiple bars and kite boarding places within walking distance. Weather was great, we were here in June. Most people speak pretty good English at the resort, they also have signs in German, Spanish, and French.

Cons, the buffet is only ok and the pool closes at night (despite being fully lit). Also, they make you sit through a presentation about their vacation packages and there are lots of people that walk around selling stuff on the beach (though they are friendly and not pushy). Scuba is not included, only an intro lesson in the pool. My husband thought the room smelled like cleaning products, I didn't smell anything.

All in all pretty good price for an all inclusive.

Lame repetitive food choices, had to make reservations in the morning to dine at their specialty restaurants but guest services desk does not open until 9 am. This did not work out well for us since we had excursions early in the morning. They didn't tell us kayaking is best done early morning to avoid the waves and strong winds until we got there. Open bar with horrible liquor choices served in tiny cups. No room service. The card key hardly works on the door locks and had to keep trying to insert the card 20x before luck hits you and the door opened. However, thanks for upgrading us to the ocean view room with a working AC (1st room we were sent into had a broken AC). No thanks that it was 2 full beds instead of 1 king and the really loud atmosphere every single night (thanks to the bar under us and the night club down the balcony). So if you can't beat them join them right? Well Tuesday was a beachside night party but their cables had a short. Lights out everybody.

Horrible experience - went in a large group there was multiple issues that arose that concerns health and safety and zero answers from the staff. My friends and I were coming back from a dining experience at a very local restaurant, one of the members from our group was misled to the back of a storage facility in which he was told by an employee that it was a washroom where it was a 12ft drop where he injured his legs and had a concussion - apparently the hotel didn't have any signs up, poorly lit area, no security and the door to the storage facility was not locked no compensation and it took my friend over two years to save for this trip and it ruined his remaining time with us as he was in a wheelchair and was too expensive to fly back earlier - when we brought this attention to the general manager and hotel staff they had no explanation - we have photos of the injury and the drop and dangerous area this will be dealt in court once we go through the proper legal channels

This place is quite literally a garbage dump!! Do not stay here!! The rooms do not have hot water! And they refuse to do anything about it. The rooms are cockroach infested, the food is disgusting the staff is rude and unprofessional and the bar is a joke. Not one thing about this place is good. I would not stay here for free .Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for something decent.

Like a time share. We went for the look at the new renovation. Newly opened all- inclusive resort looked good and clean. Not like other resort hotels on the north coast, here this is a new concept. Haven't stayed there and doubt if I would, reason is: my wife and I don't really drink and looks like plenty of that happens here. It seems to be the trend at all-inclusive resorts.
