This resort is very beautiful. We're members and sadly enough there is always a theft incident. Other guests we speak to have mentioned theft as well Everytime we stay. Forewarn that you must always keep your valuable with you unfortunately. Since the resort has minimal cameras and Security they cannot track down the thieves. That is the biggest down fall in their process. Usually our concierge was good too but this go round he wasn't. Hopefully for future trips if any (we've already been on 5 to various locations) they will get a better handle on things.

I stayed at the Presidential Suites which had a really nice setup if you get a 2 bedroom suite BUT they need to make updates. There was a horrible mildew/sewage smell in our rooms that got worse by the day. The mosquitoes are trechorus and they seem to nest in the damp patio furniture, eventually making it into the room. Depending on what level of access you pay for, the beaches are awesome! I love how it's truly ALL inclusive with exception to high end restaurants. You don't have to pay extra for Cabanas, it's first come first serve, and there's a staff tending to your food and drink requests at no extra cost. They could use a better selection of wine and spirits. The restaurants are decent for an all inclusive resort. I had a nice time but I probably wouldn't return because of my expectations when it comes to accommodations. Their setup truly has the potential to be something great for all guests but I think right now their focus is the individuals who invest as owners or share holders.

This hotel will completely scam you out of your money. The day we were leaving, we checked out and they cut off our bracelets then we went about our day and was approached by staff saying that never checked out and we would have to pay for the bracelets. After we explained that we did, we were still being accused and were actually refused to be let on to our shuttle to catch our flight. We asked to speak to the manager three times and were denied each time and we urged them to watch their security footage. I don't understand what use they think we have for some cut off plastic bracelets.. After being treated so poorly and feeling like I was completely backed into a corner, I ended up paying so we didn't miss our flight and have to pay even more. After originally being told it would cost $400US for the bracelets, it was a bit of a shock when they charged me $600US (which is the same amount that I paid for the entire trip itself). I spoke to many people after this incident and they said they were scammed as well. It completely ruined my entire vacation. I would never stay at this chain of hotels/resorts again.

Very large property. Be prepared to walk a lot or jump on a shuttle to experience all this resort has to offer. The staff are amazing and very friendly. I traveled alone with my two children 18 and 14. This is a very safe resort. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the rooms.

My wife and I would never have gone to an all inclusive resort on our own, but we really wanted to see my cousin get married on the beach so we sucked it up ha ha. It was an incredibly delightful experience. One week of gluttony and indulgences. They cater to your every needs whether you want to have adventures off resort and be social on resort with unlimited activities, or you want a secluded quiet beach where everything is delivered to your swinging bed. The staff were all amazing and the more I tried to speak Spanish with them the more they wanted to practice English with me. The hard sales guys were not too pushy and the casino had never ending nachos. LPT they will give you free cigars behind the bars if you ask nicely 👌🏽

Don’t be fooled by all the pictures. Look on trip advisor reviews.. Very unhappy people when I was there. Do you homework before planning your vacation. Beware!!!

Very friendly staff, nice grounds. The a-la-carte restaurants were very good.
Rooms were a bit outdated, but you're not there to spend time in the hotel room. They were clean and spacious, so that's all that mattered to us.

Promises not kept! Our friends are "Gold Star" members and let us use their time share for the week. The original promised room was down-graded 2 days before we flew out and when we arrived, our "Plan B" room accommodations with king beds and adjoining rooms (with our couple friends) didn't happen either?! We are in the oldest part of the resort (I'll add pictures) with stained mattresses and outdated everything! Our couple friends are plus sized and can't even sleep together in the same bed for their week of vacation because of the bed sizes (and no king size). Morning of day 2 we were whisked away with a promise of a tour of the grounds to know all the amenities and 4 hours later of wasted vacation time, were fighting verbally to get away from the sales people wanting us to buy into this time share? We were toured around the resort and shown FANTASTIC SPECTACULAR rooms and villas with private beaches etc but were clearly told they weren't perks for us unless we buy a share? It's definitely a class pyramid system that even when you're VIP / "owner" you're still not given what's been promised (owners have explained this week). Other friends we met paid through a Sears travel agent and were put in a ground zero / sort of basement with pipes in the ceiling dripping water on their bed and babies crib?! They've said that There's minimal places they can enjoy because they're not a member or friend of a member. They've said they feel like 3rd class vacationers. Many staff are very limited with their English. On a positive, food is ok, there's a very neat smoothie bar and pasta stations. They have quick shuttle services and neat large beds in a few areas that can be laid on instead of lounge chairs (if you can get there early enough). We enjoyed our outing today to the closest town :)

There are Lifestyles resort employees stationed everywhere in Puerto plata apparently, kind of feels like the mafia. I actually stayed at another resort but was invited to this one based on the guy telling me I was just gonna be taken there for a free tour of the resort.
In reality it's exactly how they sell timeshare, expect instead they are trying to sell you their "VIP membership" to get lifetime discount at Lifestyle resorts. If you vacation 5 times a year and have ten thousand dollars to throw around then maybe that's for you. But the rest of us it just doesn't make any sense to get it. We had a terrible experience after stupidly signing up for it not knowing what it is. And we were stuck there for the entire morning (8-1pm) talking to the most pushy and relentless salesmen ever. We asked for time to think about it and be given websites to see the kinds offers they provide to members but they said they can't do that, they even asked how much limit was in my credit card and 'needs' to do a deal right there and then, BIG red flags there
After the first guy trying for 3 hrs, we went back to the main VIP office and the manager came out and tried again for another 20 minutes until we finally had enough.
So please do avoid if they try to get you. They know that you spend thousands on their membership, they will have you for life.

I spent 7 days there. I was never bored on the resort and if excursions were wanted they were easy to schedule. My only complaint is the salesmen were very pushy to sell you on stuff.

Buffet for was horrible nonsense. They close the beach at 6pm which is understandable. Buy all the pools close at 7pm once it's finally comfortable after sun starts setting which is dumb. It's my vaca why can't I swim out of the sun? The Dome people constantly trying to sell time shares all day was frustrating. Resort was too big and too hot not to offer the option of renting a good cart. Not enough things to do after dark if you're not a party person/couple. Beach was not special at all.

Room was fantastic. The staff were awesome and friendly. The restaurants were very good.

I've been going here every summer for the past 2 years. The staff is great and helpful. The food is good. The entertainment is pretty much the same, but the beaches are beautiful!

It was my 1st time visiting this resort and I knew from experience that a tour was involved. Upon touring the property with our Representative William, we had an "AMAZING" time. The property was beautiful. His mannerism was impeccable. And at the end of the tour when we said that we was vacationing and not prepared to purchase, him and his Manager was very respectful and understanding. NO PRESSURE AT ALL! In and out within a couple of hours and invited us to come back again and most of all; happily told us to enjoy our stay on our vacation. BECAUSE MOST RESORTS TREAT YOU WITH DISRESPECT AND ARE VERY RUDE WHEN THEY CAN'T GET YOU TO PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCT AND HAVE NOTHING KIND TO SAY AT THE END. THEY USUALLY JUST WALK AWAY AND LEAVE YOU THERE LOOKING FOR THEM FOR HOURS SO YOU CAN'T LEAVE WITHOUT THEM SIGNING OFF ON YOUR PROMO VOUCHER.

THIS RESORT I CAN SAY WAS TRULY AMAZING!!! THE STAFF, FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, SHOPPING GET A THUMBS UP. THE ROOMS ON THE OTHER HAND WERE ALWAYS CLEAN, BUT THE BATHROOM NEED SOME TLC 😝.

This Place Sucks! They Lie & Manipulate You. We booked 6 Bed Room unit and got a 5 Bedroom unit with black mold in the ceilings, we were promised a gulf cart we ended up stealing one. the beaches close a 6PM, the resort shuts down at 9. The city of Puerto Plata is very nice: Had a great time at the restaurants, Night Clubs and Shopping

This place is absolutely post card beautiful. The property is well manicured and the property has many accesses to the beach. It's approximately 35 minutes from airport and has 11 different restaurants, although depending on the color wrist ban you have, you may be limited to which restaurants you are allowed to eat in.

Basic accommodation or maybe was just the cheap package i got but the rooms are nothing special. The food is also fat food quality. Few options of you want to eat healthy and the quality is really low. The only good thing was the cabanas. They were great and free for all.

Great resort! We were on an all inclusive package so we just worried about taking care of staff, waiters/waitresses, bartenders, maids and such. And they really do work for their tips here, so pay it forward and bring that cash money honey! Very friendly staff all around, super accommodating, and professional! Entertainment available, plenty of water activities, beach lounging, sun soaking, drink flowing, pool choices galore!
Bring your bug spray and suntan lotion and a good ass attitude!

I was there last year with the family and loved it, plan on heading back this July. trick is to find a member with access to all accommodations. 4 stars just because the golf cart I was given was bad and I had to switch it out which took 20 minutes. We were served breakfast every day at the Villa and we had one dinner cooked by a chef which was awesome! The rest of the other nights the restaurants were very good as well.

Beautiful place, not a hard sell on the timeshares like some other people have posted. For RCI members the price is incredible. The food is pretty good. The liquor is sub par . Take your own if you care about good liquors

This place is built into the mountains. If you have any kind of walking impairment, this is NOT the place for you. There are countless stairs and hills and slopes. Also, if you're not a "member" or owner, you are very limited with the offerings. You're not entitled to what "they" call the finer qualities of life!, not being an owner. But, if you're able to afford what they have to offer, as an owner, they treat you GOOD!!! As an owner or member, they offer you a lot. Steady building up their inventory.
I just think that as an "all inclusive", and not being a member, you should be allowed more than just 2 beers and 2 bottles of water per day in your room. No food, fruits, ect!! And the drinks, all bottom shelf.

I'm really upset I'm even giving this place a star but there's no option to leave it blank. If you want a miserable vacation with dirty broken rooms this is your spot. If u think you have access to 28 bars think again if your staying at this part of the resort your only limited to three bars who will not give you good liquor they give you drinks that no one can get past the awful taste. As far as hotel staff any one that does not work front desk are great but if u need to go to guest services for anything urgent ur better off writing an S.O.S in the sand. Oh but you can't do that cause the one beach you can go to is covered with garbage and seaweed. I had to ask if I could stay an extra night due to Blizzard and flight cancellations they wouldn't give me an answer untill the day before since they refused to help a paying guest we missed the next day flight and got stuck there 3 extra nights felt like a prison at that point I never had to work on vacation but that's what this was you had to work to find ways to have fun. I'm 27 years old my other half is 23 and we still couldn't have fun. Also I hope you don't like eating because if you miss the buffet time and don't wanna go to the beach sorry your waiting a while. What kind of All-inclusive resort does not have food for you 24-7 stupid. Now as far as rooms go all the furniture is from the early 90s and should of stayed there the bed frame was broken the dressers broken the shower flooded your bathroom. All together worst vacation IV ever been on do not waste your money even of someone offers you a week for free turn it down at all costs good luck

This is a timeshare place but it's a huge compound with several different resorts all under the lifestyle umbrella. Regular guests that don't have the gold VIP wristband will not get most of the amenities that theses resorts will offer including restaurants and bars and also private beaches that are for members only. But if you are a member then life is great here.

We stayed in the Tropical hotel. There are plenty of pools and bars for non VIP guests. The buffet and the reservation only restaurants have delicious food and plenty of vegetarian options. The staff are nice and will help you with whatever you need. The only complaint we had was that our sink leaked and the shower wouldn't drain but it was fixed and there were no more issues. Some travelers complain about the aggressive timeshare agents but we took the tour, didn't buy in, and they left us alone.
