I don't easily get angry or frustrated at restaurants, but this place was easily the worst experience my two sisters and I had in the Dominican Republic. Here's why: first, the food was overpriced, but we expected that since it was right next to a beach. Second, there are "hypers" playing music right outside the restaurant really loudly. While I understand how people might like a dj playing music outside a restaurant while eating and drinking, it was simply so loud that most of the waiting was done in complete silence. And that brings me to my third point, the wait was horrible. We ordered and the food came out about an hour and a half later. The food was okay, the hamburger subpar and the paella a little dry but good (better be for over 30usd) One of my sisters had ordered some desert, but 15 minutes later and with all our dishes cleared away, there was no indication that a check or desert was coming. I flagged a waiter and asked for a check. He then caught on about the flan, and so we asked if we could have it to go. We paid the check and left. The wait, loudness and service were horrible. And to top it all of, the flan we got to go was miniscule, like a 2x2" piece. Never again.

Cold beer and bottles of Diet Coke. If you are paying in US Dollars and speak limited Spanish, be prepared to have your bill rounded up to the nearest dollar (not necessarily a deal breaker) and to have derisive comments made "behind your back" (rudeness = deal breaker) after you ask for correct change.

We discovered the Poseidon after taking a catamaran trip our second day in the DR. We had an absolutely fabulous lunch. The Paella was great and lobster was tremendous. Would highly recommend the Poseidon to anyone I know who may be vacationing in this area of the DR! Great place, great food, great location!!

Excellent restaurant for all the tourist out there! I went there with one of my friends and the food was amazing, fresh and purely Dominican. I had a fish (yes a whole fish) with rice and vegetables, my friend had fish and chips, and my other friend had a stir fry. Service is a little slow (Dominican time) but with the breathtaking view, beach and vendors market, it really made the experience. If you pay for a meal or drink, you have free access to use their beach, beach chairs etc. You could spend the day there if you wanted to get off resort and feel safe. After we went to a great little Gelato shop called ‘Chiquita Bonita’s’ which is owned by a Canadian (her name is Bonnie), there she served the FRESHEST gelato I’ve ever had! You can top it off with a shot of Baileys, Canadian Rum etc.
