Did I have a relaxing week? Yes. Is this a 5 star resort? Nope. Other than the $200 romantic dinner on the beach (which was quite nice), the BUFFET had the best food options. The other restaurants were very underwhelming. Rooms are outdated and in need of repair (thankfully, renovations are coming soon). Service was hit and miss. My in-room telephone stopped working on day 2 and was never repaired. This is the only way to summon room service or housekeeping. Speaking of housekeepingmy room was cleaned at inconsistent times (some days not before 2pm). The pining peddlers/vendors at the poolside is very tacky, and who pays for wifi in 2018?? The location is very picturesque, and the grounds were well-manicured But it only took a day trip to the neighboring Secrets resort to realize what we were missing!

I wouldn't call it a luxury hotel. Certainly not 5 star, more like 3. Old and outdated, which they are fixing soon with renovations, but for those of us here now, it's not good. Shortage of all linens, especially napkins. You literally don't get one with your meal unless you ask. The pool mats are in short supply and the ones they do have are all torn up. The all inclusive free drinks package only includes the awful off brands, and the bartenders don't know how to make even the most basic drinks. The specialty restaurants look good on paper, but when you find yourself saying g that the lunch buffet is the best meal you've had here, that tells you about the quality of the food. Extremely disappointing first trip to an all inclusive resort.

My bride and I traveled to Punta Cana for our honeymoon and this resort knocked our socks off. The service was excellent and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating or gracious. The private beach is beautiful and they always have activities going on throughout each day to keep you entertained. At the same time, it’s the perfect place to just lay on the beach with no one bothering you - if that’s your thing. They have several restaurants and while the food leaves a bit to be desired, the experiences at each establishment do not. Fusion is a must-try while staying here. It’s entertaining, fun and creative. There are several bars, a few open after the restaurants close - each with a different ambiance. There are differing outdoor performances each night. It’s difficult to encapsulate all that we experienced, but even so much more that we missed because we only had 7 days. We will definitely be coming back for anniversaries.

The food is either really good or not good, the steak house cooked a very good steak, avoid the ribs. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was always very good. The staff is all first rate, extremely helpful and friendly. The facilities mostly looked good but some things are run down, our deck was not sound. Someone a few doors down went over the side of third Beck when their railing broke. Our private pool was cloudy and slimy, they never got it clean enough for my wife to be willing to go in it.

My experience at Sanctuary Cap Cana was extraordinary! From the staff to the details of the room and food/ drinks, all were wonderful. I had the best experience attending the Yoga/ Stretching with Lynne M. She was an exceptional teacher who was friendly to all and funny! Really enjoyed every day at your gorgeous Hotel. Please keep up the traveling yoga instructor program, it is so worth it!!

Let me tell you about this place! this is my favorite resort in the Dominican Republic. It has amazing views, amazing rooms, amazing staff.. do you see where I'm going with this ?.. I have been to this resort 3 times and each time it is totally worth my money. The only thing I wish they would change is the Adults only status because It's been keeping me from going back since they changed it back in 2015 I believe and I only take Family vacations with my kids. Other than this , this resort gets 10 stars from me.

Didn't stay here, but would definitely be a place I would check out if I come back. Awesome architecture, next to a public beach which gave more room to hangout. All-inclusive is always a plus and a few stores to check out as well. Would recommend just based on seeing it. Friendly staff as well.

Our family of four stayed here for Christmas (2017) and loved every minute. The food was great and there wasn’t ever a long line to wait. You could go to an restaurant every night no limitations. The shows were amazing and entertaining. The resort is wide and every part of it is a close walk to the beach. The staff were super friendly and took care of us our whole stay. We can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful Honeymoon at Sanctuary!

This was our second trip to Sanctuary and more importantly was our honeymoon and this place didn't disappoint again.

We had some issues (beyond management's control) but what was most impressive is how important it was for them to fix the situation so a huge thank you for that.

The spa is spectacular and ultra relaxing so I strongly recommend anyone use it as much as you possibly can.

We had awesome butler services from the man himself Emilio and the best service at the pool bar from Carlos and Bernardo. These guys really take the time to converse with you and make awesome cocktails for you. Mr. NYC offers killer aerobic pool exercises and has a wicked volleyball surve for anyone wanting to play.

Highly, highly recommend this place to anyone looking at Dominican Republic. It's small, quaint, and warranted our first repeat visit to any resort we've ever stayed at.

Returned this past weekend from an amazing vacation at this beautiful resort for our friends 15 year wedding anniversary. This place is paradise, so beautiful and clean. The staff was the best and made you feel like you were old friends. I have never been to a place that made me feel more at home, the staff was exceptional. We met some great people and made so many great memories. We will certainly be returning to Sanctuary Cap Cana!! Just make sure you are on top of the restaurant's days and hours, we missed out on the steakhouse and japanese restaurant because we did not inquire about days/times ahead of time. However, the food we did have was amazing, including the room service.

This resort is AWESOME!
I know the significance of writing reviews (good or bad) to truly let people know what to expect in hopes of booking a great resort and having a great vacation.
The property is beautiful and there is so much to do. The pools are very relaxing and entertaining. The beach is also very nice.

The room was great, pretty clean and spacious and we overlooked the ocean.

The food is amazing, the buffet is delicious with a lot of options and fresh fruit and vegetables. There are also many choices with the restaurants.

The service is wonderful and everyone seems so genuine and nice. Miguel, was especially sweet and he was a great concierge.

The entertainment was on point. I LOVE the adults only resort, you are truly able to relax.

Overall, I would highly recommend The Sanctuary to anyone looking to have a great vacation.

Great resort! Not crowded. Great service from all staff from start to finish. Definitely on my list to go back. Only knock was the night life was not too exciting (but could have been just that the group of people in the resort at the time weren't night owls). And one of the two late night bars in the main area was not air conditioned. Overall great experience.

Amazing resort. 5* food. Stay in the castle if you can. Top floor honeymoon suite was massive and had a private pool. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

This place is fantastic! The staff is so friendly. Sander and Enolky are the best. The service has been fantastic. Everyone remembers who we are and what we like. The beaches and pools are beautiful and the restaurants are delicious. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

My girlfriend and I stayed here a few weeks ago. The resort is very well kept and I can't say enough great things about the service. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed.

I'd give the food 4 out of 5 stars, it was good but nothing to write home about. Of course they had a large variety of drinks and weren't shy about pouring.

We stayed on the castle side of the resort and our room was more than an adequate size. The A/C worked well and our room also opened to a patio and a private swim-out pool that we shared with 6-7 other rooms (PERFECT if you want to take a dip after dark).

Overall our experience was fantastic and I would definitely stay here again.

We went to Sanctuary at the end of January this year. We were celebrating our honeymoon and we had the time of our lives!! They food was amazing, the atmosphere was breath taking, and the staff was very entertaining and nice! Our room in the castle was great and our fridge was always stocked! We will definitely return in the future!

What an amazing time! Eric (our butler), Desyi (Client services), Nadia (Event planning) and Yaris (Dining) were wonderful. I can't begin to share how attentive and customer friendly the staff was. Our personal travel agent Red Lion Travel set up our 20th Anniversary trip. In conjunction with the hotel staff they prepared our total package. We stayed in a beautiful villa and had every need catered too. The food was delicious and the grounds were clean and well kept. The little exclusive town set up was awesome. The Ice Cream and Dessert shop along with the stone grilled pizza was exceptional. I will definitely come back here again.

Maid service excellent. .room made up in the morning and again in the evening while we were having dinner which is nice because we always have an afternoon nap.

Already thinking about booking at the same resort next year.
