The room was nice and well furnished. The toiletries that were provided smelled great. We liked that it is a sustainable hotel. The location was good. It's a busy part of town so it can get loud outside, even in the winter. The heaters on the large patio were not functional during our visit.
Unfortunately, there is no common area for guests to relax. We were jet lagged and ended up getting dinner after most restaurants had closed (around 10 or 11pm) from a local takeout place. We brought it back to the hotel, but when we sat in what we thought was a common area to eat, we were told it was a restaurant (though the kitchen was closed). The woman who told this to us was clearly upset so we moved to our room instead.
While most of the staff were friendly, there was one woman (same as described above) who seemed to take offense to a misunderstanding when we first tried to check into the hotel. We thought she said that she "couldn't help us with anything", immediately followed with the offer of a drink, so we assumed she was just tending bar and waited for the other person on staff to finish with another customer. In fact, she had said that she "could help us with anything". She gave us the cold shoulder the rest of our stay, which made our stay uncomfortable and started our trip on a sour note.
We really enjoyed staying here. It was a good 30minute walk to the Centre and another 30minute walk to the park. The quality of breakfast, toiletries and service was excellent. The place feels like it caters for Danish tourists rather than the international traveller. Would really recommend staying here.
Very nice Organic hotel, the rooms were cosy and simple. The breakfast we had in the morning contained a great range of healthy and organic foods which set us up for the day ahead! If you're someone who strives to be eco-friendly then this is the place for you, if that's not for you, then it's still a nice hotel.
Very nice hotel with friendly and relaxed staff. The room was large and tidy and so was the bed. The cafe like dining area was very cozy and relaxing
An easy, clean and beautiful gem in the heart of the city. very likeable hosts and staff. nothing but 100% recommendable for private and business trips. charm & authentic comfort. like it!
Great hotel. Interesting shampoo and other eco friendly items. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. The room was a decent size and quiet at night. Location is also perfect for Copenhagen since many activities are within walking distance. We also received a complementary bottle of wine with the room. We didn't eat anything from the restaurant so I can't comment on food, but they did have a nice wine selection in reception.
Very nice hotel. Great staff that always great you with a big smile. The breakfast was very good with only organic food. The rooms were nice although a bit small.
Carlton is like home away from home, comfortable beds, nice rooms, friendly staff. WiFi could be better and some of the beds are ready for replacement.
The bed was very hard, room cold and WiFi slow on the 5th level. I liked the fact that the hotel is environmental friendly though.
Fantastic service! Good breakfast. Walking distance to main trains station.
Rooms are too small and there is smell of sewage in the bathroom. Room has no AC. Good Location. Nice welcoming
A lovely, friendly hotel that is well kept and offers good value for money. The bed in our standard room was very comfortable, and the whilst the room was a little small it was entirely adequate. The free Wi-Fi was fast and was easy to connect to.
Breakfast was too expensive - £17 per person per day - and not enough choice and quality was provided for this price.
Drinks and snacks in the cafe area were also too expensive, and the place was generally deserted as a result. £6.50 for a 400ml beer is too much, even in Copenhagen! There is a supermarket next door where the cost is one quarter of this. The hotel would do better to either bring down the price of their drinks, or allow guests to bring their own.
The hotel is not located near a Metro station, and is at least a 10-minute walk from the railway station. However, you can take the 26 and 6A buses from outside, that run frequently.
Overall a very good hotel, and we were very happy with our choice. If the breakfast could be improved and the price of drinks reduced, it would be a true 5* rating.
