Conveniently positioned in a residential (so therefore quiet) part of what was the East Good restaurants nearby popular with the locals. Is a beautifully preserved old building in an area with many newer apartment blocks. Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable and well-furnished room. I would certainly stay there again next time I'm in Berlin.

Two stars for the location, quirkiness of the decor and cleanliness of the room.

From the outside it's a nice boutique hotel in a well connected area. I stayed here mid week with my partner for two days. Check in was easy and all was going well until the issues of staying in an older building came through.

The internal walls seemed to be paper thin, we could hear both rooms on either side of us and when anyone walked past our door in the hallway you could hear the loud creaks of the wooden floor boards which meant sleeping in was not an option , (perhaps they should line the curtains as the daylight penetrated the room well before 7 due to it being Summer). We were staying in room 24 so perhaps if you can, try an avoid it!

On the first morning of the stay I was told I had to check out even though the reservation was for two nights and when I told the receptionist this through the door she said I had to leave. I got my clothes on to speak to her downstairs and there was not even an apology that matched the way she treated me. She said there was a mistake which yes this does happen but she should have come straight back up to the room to apologise.

After this I felt extremely uncomfortable in the hotel and couldn't wait to leave.

This is a perfect hotel for those looking for something special but not ostentatious. Service and accommodations were low key but well done. I especially enjoyed the garden, which was a perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine after sightseeing.

Authentic German hotel with a B&B feel. High ceiling rooms are opulent and quirky, well decorated with portraits and can recommend the suites facing the garden for more space and feel. Great staff, quiet location but still walkable to some of the major tourist attractions, recommend walking East down TorstraBe for some hip bars and cafes.

The building is very classical and pretty. And the breakfast at the cafe is amazingly awesome! BUT the front stuff is not educated at all. They are just siting and net surfing there. Sometimes their attitude is that look down on the customer especially from Asian.
