Have had the pleasure to stay at other Melia properties in the past. With Caracas Melia being one of my all time favorites. As I was planning to attend the Festival de Habanos in Cuba was pleased to see several Melia properties in Cuba. I chose to stay at Cohiba Melia as it seem to be right in the middle, in between the conference palace and the old Havana. Both 10 mins away from the hotel.

Not far from the airport 20-30min drive. Straight forward drive.

I stayed there for seven days. 25/2 to 4/3

The Cohiba Melia didn't disappoint. The Melia quality service was as expected. Friendly staff. Always ready to assist. Always checking how my stay is going. From bell man, front desk, waiters, bartenders to room attendants.

Clean Spacious Rooms with Mini Bar. Free internet. However the internet works best in the lobby. It does go off and on. Daytime it is spotty. Best time was either early morning or late night. However it is ideal if you just want to just check on emails. Maybe they should pump the wifi signal a bit. But it did the job.

Plenty of restaurants. I personally liked the restaurant around the pool.
The breakfast buffet every morning had an extensive variety. Should definitely be a must for every guest.

Didn't take advantage of the shops inside the building except the casa de habano which was ideal for a smoke and a drink. Live entertainment every night i was there.

I found the small shops at the back of the building handy for some last minute shopping.

Plenty of taxis just in front of hotel, either regular ones or the famous taxis. Any time of day, day time or late night for cruising nightlife.

The building outside does need some love but the moment you walk in the lobby you forget about that.

Overall this is my new favorite Melia Hotel.

Worlds most known cigarete factory! Looks like the time machine. Handwerk, old machineslooks like history. Worth visiting!

I have been there in 2009, problably the best hotel in town. Good service, good staff. If you consider the hotel is in Cuba, with all the dificulties they have, it is worthed a 5 stars. You can book a room there and wait for an excellent stay.

It is a nice hotel. It has nice views, and the rooms are spacious. However, WiFi connection is an issue. I think WiFi is an issue for Cuba as a whole. Also, the tv channels are not that inticing! But overall, nice hotel.

My Husband and My son stayed for 5 days. The hotel was immaculate, the service spectacular, the food really awesome specially the breakfast with the nice different music every morning, the staff extremely kind and efficient, we really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone who wants to have a beautiful-relaxing vacation.

Great location. Food is above average. Rooms are clean with great views of the city. Close to the beach. Good places to eat across the street. Not close to downtown. Overall I would stay again.

Nice hotel, but not for the price. For a suit at the 23 floor you pay $750 per night which includs the free entrance to high class havana clubs etc.

All goes wellexcept the last day when we met one cockroach in toilet and one visitor on my bed and inside my pillow. The staff was very helpful and quick (for Cuban standards). The room was comfort and clean. The view was great, ocean view above the Malecon. The breakfast was nice and rich. Finally, the internet was free!!

Awful service. We had booked the room a week before and we only had two days in havana. There was no room available when we got there so we missed a whole afternoon arguing with them. In return we got A VOUCHER FOR A DRINK for a room that cost 600/night

Nice clean hotel with good amenities - on the Malecon. Not the best location to downtown. Terrific breakfast buffet.

Very nice hotel. The only thing I would like to see improved is that there would be 110 outlets somewhere in the room. Even though there are many mirrors throughout the suite, there are none anywhere conveniently located near an outlet for a woman to do her hair. The breakfast was excellent.

The view to ocean is great pool is ok rooms are old common area Looks good rooms are not modern or updated. Based in high scale hotel service is ok it is not 100% 5-6 star hotel. Restaurants are ok and food tastes good in some restaurant we tried but watch for this there is a show next door it is called buena vista it is totally waste of money it is in a club music loud not appealing to American with very minor dance which is nothing compare to vegas shows so it is waste of money food there is disgusting no one finished the plate total wastes of money that show
They have free Shiuttle service which is good
I have not been to other hotels but this is descent one
In front of hotel there are some restaurant with good quality food as well
By the way Internet is not good you may check email but definitely not able to watch anything

Very nice and clean. I went here to the cigar room and restaurant to have a drink and watch an NFL playoff game. Seems like the hotel itself would be ultra expensive.

Great accommodations in a good location. A shot cab ride from Revolution Square and Old Havana with lots of great restaurants only blocks away.
