I found Paradise. Tom and his staff are as helpful and pleasant as they can be. I will return .Do not worry about learning Spanish , You can learn as you go.

Very relaxed and quiet accommodation. Secure place to leave your vehicle. Be prepared for loud music from the main street and the odd drunk or early morning riser if u stay in a place close to the kitchen. Fan in our room was quite noisy so was hard to sleep otherwise place was clean and inviting.

This is a nice, secure hostel (gated parking and hostel with evening security). Despite it being somewhat distant (a block) from the main strip, you could still hear music (bass) until 2am, roughly. My room was very basic with a ceiling fan (no A/C). The admin office is only open 8am - 8pm so get there to check-in/-out during those hours. It’s not the cleanest/nicest hostel but it’s decent enough for the cost. I would stay there again (short-term). This is a good hostel for families.

Run by a local family. Prices are reasonable. Rooms are clean. Great place for groups to stay. The pool is awesome.

My wife and I just got back from an excellent 24 days at Villa Macondo. My wife was studying at a Spanish language school in Tamarindo, and I was there for an extended vacation. Villa Macondo was perfect for us. We had a two bedroom villa like the one shown in this photo. Throughout our stay the staff at Macondo were great, they couldn't do more to help and make you feel at home - a particular shout to LB and Walter! Tom who owns the place runs a professional and relaxed environment and ensures everything is as is should be. The Villas are located in the center of town so a short walk from everything, but are designed in a way that once inside feel sheltered and private. All in a all a good choice if you plan to be in Tamarindo.
