Hotel Mangaby is located in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste. The hotel is an easy walk to the beach -- approximately 100 meters. The business is family owned and operated. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. They have a lovely custom pool that serves as their trademark. To add, they have a very nice restaurant that serves breakfast (included) and is open throughout the day into the evening. The menu is extensive and the food is delicious.
In addition, the management (Alberto, Sr. and Alberto, Jr. who typically run the office) go out of their way to assist you with any additional needs or helpful suggestions that you may have.
The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, from housekeeping to waitstaff to the cooks. We stayed there ten days while searching for a house and they all made us feel like family.
The rates are more than fair. We have been back twice and will certainly visit again.

We only spent 2 nights here but loved it!
Staff is friendly, pool is inviting and the beer is cold. We loved having our own private terrace. Rooms are basic and somewhat dated, but clean. Only a 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach.

Great place to stay. Room was fine and clean. Need was comfortable. Beautiful pool with a waterfall. Came with a delicious breakfast. Just a few steps to a wonderful beach. Mangaby is a combination of the husband and wife's names.

I would return. Lovely atmosphere. Big rooms. Solid restaurant on site. Decent breakfast included. Free WiFi that worked well. Loved: the free parking, care and welcoming vibe from the front office staff, proximity to the beach, proximity to Roberto's restaurant (yum!). I held back one star due to the budget accommodations are glaring in some cases: tired looking shower/ bathroom, linens are in need of replacement in some cases.

I just have this hotel 5 stars. My partner was ill. She needed time in bed before we could travel. They said, "don't worry. Take the time you need. We're don't need that room tonight." There was no additional charge. We're stayed several hours. How many hotels would have that attitude? Plus, it's a nice hotel in a perfect spot.

And. Our breakfast included which I did not mention.

Stay here.

Nice. Unpretentious. Beautiful pool. Clean. Perfect location about 200m from the beach. There is a parade of bathers throughout the day on the road Infront of the hotel.

Management is very gracious.

Enjoy the beach, town from this spot. There are more fancy hotels but you really don't get anything more. Stay in this one.

Our family had one of our best vacations at this property. We travel a lot, so this is truly an outstanding comment coming from us. We had a unit right near the pool, and it was almost as though we had a private pool. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food in the restaurant was wonderful and creative. My only regret was that we scheduled several day trips, when we really should have just stayed on the property and relaxed. We will definitely be back.
