This hotel is the same as the Beach Break Resort. 4 stars because of a friendly staff, amazing location (felt like a private beach in Jacó), good breakfasts.
The hotel itself its a little old. Rooms are clean and have a small AC that blows ice cold air (maybe a little too cold).response / report this review -

The worst stay ever. Thankfully Jacó is home to lots of awesome folks OUTSIDE of this hotel that my time in Costa Rica was epic regardless! Just make sure to stay ANYWHERE else in this area. Staff was incredibly rude, guards eye you the whole time as if you're committing a crime, black water occasionally coming out of some of the rooms toilets and faucets. Be warned! Avoid at all costs. Pura vida everywhere else though!

The hotel is dated and needs some maintenance and improvements. The staff is very friendly and will make the extra effort to meet the guests' needs. The food is very average, so I recommend to find better options in the town of Jaco which is about a 1 mile from the hotel. The hotel has a direct access to the beach which is nice.

BUYER BEWARE! BUYER'S REMORSE! The review by Tony Zack is correct. Pay the money and goto Sandals or some other very reputable resort. Do NOT trust the pictures. View the images using Google Earth for this location so you can really see what it looks like. To be fair they have a VERY nice staff though. Would never go back.

I booked 3 rooms with this supposed resort it was only for a night until we could get to a rental house. I thought it can't be too bad. Buyer beware! This place needs a complete overhaul. The rooms are old and dark, the beach pool was out, the parking lot was a mud pit and the tile walkways were treacherously slippery once wet. Your best best stay some where else. Pay the additional amount. The staff at the front desk was not friendly. The surf lessons were good however.
