Nice park, with a lake. Bring some food and drinks and have a picnic here. Soccer games, bird watchers, runners, and people just enjoying the day. There are no restaurants, only some vendors selling shaved ice, fruits, chips, sodas. La Pura Vida!

They have a lake with little boats for a ride, football courts, a running track, skate's area, basketball courts, playgrounds and the national gymnasium and stadium.. You can also find kids' entertainment and food for sale. Only cash accepted

The biggest park in San Jose!! Great place to exercise or simply take a walk. The park has soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball fields as well as a skate rink and various tracks for running. The park is well maintain with easy access from any part of the city.

Amazing! Large and open with areas for just about everything. There's futbol, basketball, volleyball, trees areas for shade, picnic areas, pathways, a lake, mountain views, vendors selling fresh squeezed juice and grilled pollo on a skewer.

It's the best place in San Jose if you wanna go for a walk or a stroll. It's safe enough as to take your children along, I usually take my 2 year old over there and he really enjoys running around.

5 stars for being in San Jose but only because it's the best park there.

Costa Rica's version of central park, complete with an art museum and lake. Popular on weekends, but big enough that you can escape the crowds even at the most popular times.

It's the largest urban park in San Jose with museums, restaurants and hotels nearby. It can be unsafe after dark and even during the day if you are careless. There are efforts to keep it clean but the average Costarrican still doesn't care about littering public spaces.

Nice park. Plenty of space to stretch your legs and there is the national stadium there for soccer games and concerts.

We were disappointed upon visiting this park especially as it was a recommended attraction in a few guide books/websites. Close to the Museo de Arte Costarricense. It is on the site of the former San Jose airport which explains its long rectangular shape. The LaSabana park is large but kind run down. The area around the park were congested with traffic and noise. It is nice to still see quite a lots of activities going on, a soccer game at the centre stadium, a tour group looking at statues of some heroes, local people picnic-ing. A park that should live up to its potential!

We spent a Saturday morning here and it was really relaxing. Find the lady with the fresh coconuts by the running track. She's great!

It is a very beautiful big park where events tend be held with some restaurants surroundig the area. The park usually gets filled with people during the weekend and is good for a bit of sport, picnic and some exercise. They allow animals in the park, just make sure to take a baggy to pick up the animals droppings in case policemen see you leaving it there. The park can be a bit dangerous due to thieves but just watch your belongings and there police that do roam the park and even more so on the weekends. During a nice day it is recommended to go to this park and enjoy yourself.

Love this park! So much energy of people and kids here. Lots of space to walk, ride bikes, skate, fish, boat, etc. You can find street vendors selling snacks like mangoes and ice cream. You can also fly kites here. Lots of people come here on vacation days.
