Before I begin, I'd like to note that in TripAdvisor and other review sites, the owner of Casa Isabella shames and berates negative reviewers with PERSONAL DETAILS, including their name, alcohol they drank on a private vacation, and the amount of toilet paper they used. This possibly is why the rating is so high but the negative reviews are so similar: wouldn't you delete your negative review if you were being personally attacked by someone with your credit card number, home address, and possibly sensitive personal information? ---------------------
Very bad experience here. I paid in full for 5 days with cash when we checked in. We realized the place was not for us immediately and were denied a full refund for the rest of the days. The owner charged $250 for staying less than 24 hours in a 50$ a night room in her home, where the main amenity of "free international and local calls" simply meant "just use skype on your phone or something".
My advice, if you decide you must stay here, would be to pay as you go with cash only; if you find it is not a good match for you, you can simply leave without lining this woman's pockets or feeling taken hostage if you can't afford to pay for two different hotels. We stayed at close-by Villas del Rio the rest of the trip and we loved it, it was actually cheaper than Casa Isabella, the service was mind blowing, and we had our own kitchenette and separate bedrooms.

My stay at Casa Isabella was beyond my expectations. I have chosen this location as the strategic point for exploring the rest of the country. Roberto makes all the difference in the world. Knowledgeable, fluent in English and Spanish, at your service any time you need him, always able to help, taking all your worries away, understanding, professional, humble, wonderful person, I can go on and on. I would love to return to this magic place in the future. I would highly recommend this location, especially for the 1st time visitors.
Other highlights: Great price, great breakfast, free wifi, TV in both English and Spanish, private bathroom, free secured parking, close to the airport, very close driving distance to restaurants, banks, shopping.
