For sure one of the best hotels in El Castillo. Great views and the infinity pool is quite something. There is a good restaurant with a fine menu. By the way master suites are the best

I went up to check the place out and it was absolutely gorgeous had lunch there absolutely delicious with wonderful views of both the lake and volcano I wish I knew about the place sooner and I would have stayed here and I will book a room next time I visit the area

Best view of the volcano and lake. Situated up on a hill set in its own private grounds. Has a spa and infinite pool that looks out over the lake. Very friendly staff. Nice comfortable accommodation. We would stay again.

Visit for some amazing views of Lake Arenal and sorounding area. We only stopped here for a sunset cocktail. The views are incredible.

This place would.be great if with the sterile decor the decided to make sure the scones had a glass shade on them and there wasn't ants crawling around the bathroom. The view is great though

Beautiful view.
Some pleasant staff.
Good breakfast to get you going in the morning.
The room we stayed in was perfect, private, and away from other people. Surrounded only by nature.
We could hear the street noise, and some motorcycle riders who loves to rev their engines, unfortunately.
Overall enjoyed our stay.
If you get a chance try the food at Soda La Mesa de Mamá restaurant a few minutes drive, the soups, and patacones were great.response / report this review -

What an incredible find. From online you never know what you will find upon arrival but this place exceeded all our expectations. Absolutely stunning. Very friendly staff. It doesn't get better than this. And in the heart of lake arenal and volcano and national park.

Good service, nice view and location. Everything very clean. Breakfast is also good. Prices for dinner too high in my view. Approach is difficult due to bad roads (4WD recommended). You here all the noise of the neighbor rooms sometimes. All in all nice hotel in good location too all activities around.

I could have slept in a tent and been happy. The property is gorgeous, secluded, and has everything you need. I can't wait to go back.

AMAZING!!!!!! THE PEOPLE ARE SO NICEEEEE. THEY MADE THIS JELLY FOR BREAKFAST MY HUSBAND LOVED IT SO MUCH I ASKED THEM TO MAKE IT FOR ME. THE SERVER TOLD US THAT THEY ONLY MAKE IT EVERY MORNING BUT HE WILL ASK THE CHEF. THE NEXT DAY HE HAD A BIG MASON JAR READY FOR US TO TAKE BACK TO OUR ROOM. THE RESTAURANT IS NICE, FOOD IS GREAT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WONDERFUL. EVERYONE IS FORMAL, GENUINE AND NICE. THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT THEIR GUESTS. I CAN'T WRITE EVERYTHING BUT WE WENT THERE FOR OUR FIRST 3 NIGHTS IN COSTA RICA AND WE LOVED IT. THE ROADS NEED TO BE BIGGER AND MORE LIGHTS OTHER THAN THAT PERFECTO FROM SAN JOSE TO LA FORTUNA PLEASE DON'T DO IT AT NIGHT. IT'S VERY CURVY AND FOGGY AND IF YOU ARE RENTING A CAR GET A BIG CAR, JEEP,TRUCK SOMETHING BIG, STAY AWAY FROM SEDAN AND HAVE YOUR BEST DRIVER WITH A GOOD PAIR OF EYES TAKE CONTROL OF THE ROAD COSTARICAN PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE. WE HAD THE BEST HONEYMOON THERE :) PLANNING ON TAKING A FAMILY TRIP SOON

A wonderful place with amazing surroundings. This is a place to escape from the frantic pace of life. Don't expect the Ritz, but expect to be treated as you would be there.

Very nice hotel with awesome views to the lagoon and the active part of the volcano. The place is also beautiful and in great condition. Only the rooms needed a bit of maintenance but nothing critical.

Fantastic location the views of the volcano and lake are out of this world. The room was new clean and very comfortable. The staff were great. Food was lovely as were the cocktails. Think you ideally need a 4x4 to reach it as the track leading to it is not great to say the least. But highly recommend this hotel.

Overpriced, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and we rarely got to appreciate the view of the amenities bc it rained and was so foggy and cloudy.
