Location and ambiance is amazing. Food is decent, but not great for the price. We reached the restaurant around 6:45 and the person at the front said since we don't have a reservation, we might have to wait for around 30 minutes. Which we politely agreed to. Around 7:30 they said reservation may be available around 8:30. Since we already had spent so much time and most of the decent restaurants were far away, we weren't left with any other choice. The reason i hated this place is that people who didn't have a reservation and came after us, got seated before us! which is ridiculous. And for all the time we were there, the restaurant was about 25% empty with several empty tables. Finally, when we were seated, we were given a table closest to the cashier, had no table candlelight - when in fact there were better seating arrangements available. this kind of treatment just because we didnt have a reservation is the worst we've had GLOBALLY!!! A restaurant with better operations management could have accommodated and treated us better. not recommended!!!
Amazing hotel located at just 9 minutes from Manuel Antonio national park, the property is inside a natural reserve so you can see many of the most beautiful Costa Rican birds. The spa is really nice, the restaurant it’s also really good, super tasty food, the seafood is super fresh and tasteful. The owner of the hotel is a really nice person and loves to chat with visitors. All the staff was super nice. Definitely a place to come back.
place is amazing! highest level of service. if you plan to visit Manuel antonio Park or just want to relax and don't mind pay little extra this is a great hotel/resort
Amazing drinks and delicious food. You park down, then they take you up the hill to the restaurant through a golf cart. This place has good one of the best chefs in town. A must visit. The place is neither too expensive nor too cheap. We were a group of 11 people and ordered more than 50% of their menu. Servers are pretty friendly.
I can't say enough good things about this stunning hotel. Perched high in the hills surrounded by lush jungle, this truly is Paradise. Everything here is Immaculate and well-designed. Within minutes of arriving, we saw a sloth in a tree next to the pool! The most incredible part of Gaia is the staff. Everyone who works here is so nice and helpful. I have never experienced this level of service. The best part is that the staff seem to sincerely enjoy their jobs so I can relax guilt-free. Pura Vida.
This place is incredible. There are so many things to say that I can't fit it all in this review.. just go experience it yourself! From the second my wife and I got here we were treated like royalty. The amazing staff met us at the gate, helped park our car, loaded our luggage, and drove us to the reception area. Once there, we were welcomed with fresh made juice and checked into the hotel. We then got a brief tour and our luggage was brought to the room.
The room was beautiful. We had a view out over the forest reserve and the ocean in the distance. The room itself was very nice and welcoming. It was quiet and felt very private. The hotel had 2 terrace pools overlooking the jungle with a small outdoor bar and seating areas. The bartender routinely brought us fresh fruit every day we were there. The drinks we ordered were excellent as well.
The hotel restaurant was very nice and overlooked the jungle and ocean. Every morning we watched Macaws fly by in front of the hotel. Side note but this hotel has a reintroduction project to help these excellent birds recover as a species (take the reserve tour). We loved eating here and did so three evenings for dinner and every breakfast. The food was delicious and very fresh.
Truly the best part about this place was the service. It seemed after only a day many of the hotel staff all knew us by name and we're very helpful. Our concierge booked tours for us and provided a lot of info on the local area. He even brought us homemade Empanadas because we had trouble finding them at the local reataurants and wanted to try them. We felt as if we were famous people the whole time we stayed here. If you are on the edge about this place just book it and enjoy! It is fantastic.
I stayed here over Christmas. The only reason I’m not awarding Gaia 5 Stars is because I was mislead by the ‘Adults Only’ in their title. There were many families there with adolescents. I can assure you they weren’t adults. Other than that, the property is spectacular. The food and staff give you amazing service but you do feel obligated to give tips to everyone who offers you service (you don’t have to but it’s implied). It’s not as romantic with families there but if that’s not your purpose, then this place is very high quality, exercising very high standards.
We went to the free macaw tour and it was AMAZING. The guide was so knowledgeable and spoke multiple languages. All you have to do is call and ask to get on their next tour, and they'll schedule you for that afternoon or in the next couple of days. Tours start at 3:30 pm. They have a macaw rehabilitation center here where they take ones that were in the pet trade and retrain them to be released into the wild. You can really tell their efforts are working because many more macaws are visible all around the area & town. Here at Gaia you can see the facility, and watch them from an elevated viewpoint platform in the trees. Highly recommended.
Excellent service starting from Roy at the front and everyone else. Free shuttle to and from Manuel Antonio National Park. Good food at the restaurant. Golf carts readily available to take you around the resort. Saw a sloth in the resort, and they offer a free nature walk with a great guide named Gamma to see macaws. Highly recommended.
We went to the free macaw tour and it was AMAZING. The guide was so knowledgeable and spoke multiple languages. Highly recommended.
We had one of the most incredible experiences at the Gaia. The staff were all very friendly and trustworthy. They were attentive and it was a true 5 star experience. The resort was beautiful, our room was amazing and the food was solid. We dined at the restaurant every night and everything we ordered was great! I hope to come back one day and bring friends or family!
My husband and I enjoyed our experience at Gaia. Everyone was so friendly and made it a point to remember your name. The food was delicious. Also, highly recommend Gamma for a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park-the hotel set ours up for us, make sure you ask for him.
Amazing place to stay, and high quality services- employees work hard to ensure you get everything as you expect. Special thanks to Sandy, she personally takes care about every aspect and detail.
My family did not stay here while in quepos/Manuel Antonio but it was recommended to us by a former employee for their free afternoon tour of the macaws.
We got there too early (tour is around 3 or 4) and, after explaining we weren't guests, were given a ride in a golf cart to the bar/restaurant area. The ride was unexpected and fun going up the steep hill and the view was fantastic at the bar. Our frozen daiquiris while we waited were perfect for the high afternoon heat and the decor and style of the place was very chic and pristine. The employees spoke very good English and happily tolerated our muddled Spanish. Price for the drinks was a little cheaper than you'd pay for the drinks in the USA.
We then went with our guide and a small group of other guests at the hotel on the tour of their rehabilitation area for macaws and learned about the interaction of animals in the area and the projects goals. Portions of all the hotels profits go towards the rehab center.
We took a short walk down some paths and were shown other animals. There is also a longer trail with a view you can elect to go on with the group. After getting back, we were given drinks at the bar by the guide! Not bad for a free tour. We made sure, and urge anyone going on this tour, to donate money towards the rehab so they can continue to offer such an great experience and help restore the damage to our ecosystems.
The place is amazing, a great escape for adults, the attention is personalized they take care of all the details and the food is good alongside with the price.
Next to Heaven. Pools, waterfalls, beautiful views..day expeditions and activities
We stayed here about six months ago. Amazing!!! Breathtaking!!! Outstanding!!! Luxurious!!! Excellent!!! The view is out of this world!!! The staff caters to your every want and need!!! The food is very delicious and filling!!! I am looking extremely forward to spending more nights at Gaia!!! Thanks for everything Boris and the staff!!!
Excellent, unparalleled service. Small Boutique hotel built into the side of the hills overlooking Manuel Antonio. Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were fantastic.
Went to The Gaia for a second time in May 2016 and it was even better than my first stay in 2011. Now, I can't wait to return for my 3rd visit. Personalized service, attention to every detail, and professional and friendly staff. The grounds are gorgeous and it is not uncommon to run into one of the owners at dinner or during the day to ensure your stay is perfection. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Manuel Antonio. Pura Vida!
