We had a deluxe room and the best thing about the room was that it was very close to the pool and spacious enough for a family of five. The cleaning over the three nights we stayed was good.
The small pool has cracks in the tiles that caused two of our children cutting their toes which was pointed out to the barman by the pool.
The street is very noisy and is quite disturbing since there is a lot of traffic heading back and forth from Manuel Antonio.
The breakfast staff is a joke. Lazy and unattentive and the only day there was an improvement was when there was a manager in who did a stock control of the liquor. Then the breakfast was finally served according to the menu. Due to the complete lack of professionalism from the morning staff we never even wanted to consider having any other meals in the restaurant.
Nice staff, good food. Was awoke by banging on window this am- just a toucan admiring himself:)
Enjoyed our stay here very friendly staff.
Staff are wonderful! Their bar/restaurant has some of the best food!!
The rooms are quite lovely with AC and the location is splendid! You can hike up to the top, above the hotel where they have some sort of observatory and see the surrounding area as well as out to the beach! It's a great spot to view the sunset.
This place is dirty, the rooms have bugs and showers have no doors.Added to that the front desk folks are not very friendly. We arrived there and saw that the Pool view room that we had booked was not even overlooking a ppol, there were bug in the room.We requested a cancellation but we were not refunded.I will take it up with my credit card company and dispute the charges since they did not deliver as promised.
Be sure you don't book the lowest price or you will get basically a closet with a bed and no free breakfast. We paid $12 for the breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a nice place with a nice pool, but the room we had was too small. Had I known, I would have paid for a larger room.
Quiet hotel with an amazing point of view to the beach sunset
SCAM. If you want to stay in this hotel, get ready for:
- Room description and photos mismatch
- Free breakfast can become "none-free breakfast"
- Front desk will drop calls from booking agency
Long version:
Reserved it through Expedia. It had a good price, nice room pictures, free breakfast. Well it all was nice before we started a check in. I was given they own version of confirmation letter, which stated "none-free breakfast" which was a bit a surprise for me, but not a deal breaker, I thought whatever. But then I've been shown a room that wasn't even close to whatever was on room photos on Expedia site and "garden view" was replaced with "wall view". I called Expedia customer support with a request to cancel this reservation, they tried to call hotel and make it follow their promises. After receptionist dropped phone a few times on Expedia guys, they moved me to the other hotel.
It was a nice overall stay for us. The hotel is nicely situated in the middle of the vegetation, is clean, most of the hotel staff were really nice and professional.
Pros:
- Nice location: The hotel is served by a bus station right in front of it so you can go to Quepos (the little town nearby) or Manuel Antonio beaches and national Park for under $1
- Good breakfast! I thought that, like a lot of included breakfasts, it will be something light like a toast and fruit. But It was a good fulfilling breakfast, eggs, rice and beans, plantains, fruit, toasts, cereal, sausage, etc.
- Nature Contact: We saw a couple of iguanas and a lot of green, really nice
- Really nice water pressure and temperature control
- Pool is decent and very refreshing and clean
- A/C is a must in this weather!
Cons:
- Everything is made of wood. The floor, the bed, the doors. Which is a nice choice aesthetically, but it makes a lot of noise. When you walk around the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a couple or a honeymoon because it will get LOUD.
- They give you one pool towel per person at the reception and you have to take it back there if you want a new one, which is completely fine. The thing is that these towels seem prone to disappear (we saw two couples with this problem) and I'm assuming they charge for them so always keep an eye on them.
- The food (lunch and dinner) falls on the pricey end. Sometimes it takes a while before it gets served. It's good if you have the time and budget for it.
Very nice. Clean and with excellent service. When we arrived we were greeted with cold passion fruit juice--pleasant and refreshing after a long van ride. The breakfast was wonderful--eggs, sausage, tons of fresh fruit and the traditional gallo pinto (rice and beans). The only downside was the stair climb up to the rooms but they would have driven us in the golf cart if we had asked. The pool is small but clean and we were the only ones in it. They provide pool towels but you have to walk downstairs to reception to get them. The rooms were small but cozy and clean. There was a coffee maker and cups in the room, but no coffee. ?? Air conditioning worked well. Comfy chairs and a couple of hammocks on the front porch right outside our room. Beautiful grounds and nice clean hotel.
