Love the sunset. Friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Late June. To catch these sunset in Switzerland, rather incredible. Check out my sunset photos.

What a rip off. Sure the hotel is a nice old building in a great setting. The room large but odd use of space. The staff very nice. However 85 CHF for a small cot with several cross braces missing for a 14 year old is a crime.

Cozy and quaint a bit to be desired in terms of decor and amenities but almost there. Location near lake makes it worth the lack of that extra something

A comfortable lake-side hotel, only 10 minutes' walk from central Zurich, with a lake view. Well appointed, 20s style rooms with beds in the continental style of dual-mattress/duvets.
Breakfast bar-buffet with large range of local Swiss meats and cheeses, alongside staples like cereals make this a hard thing to walk away from! Fresh honeycomb is also available.
Food in the restaurant is good quality with some interesting flavour combinations (fish rolled in nuts with red cabbage) but delicious nonetheless.

We stayed at the Steigenberger for two nights. We booked this hotel because it has 4 stars, but when we arrived, we were frustrated and confused as to how this hotel gets its ratings.
Here are the things that we disliked:
1. We booked a room with Zurich Card. At the check in desk, they were surprised about the Zurich cardwe had to come back later to pick it up. The staff is not on top of the bookings - we don't need to remind a 4 star hotel what we paid for.
2. Rooms are very old and simple. The heating is poor. It was below 20F outside and the room was really chilly.
3. These days a 4 star hotel offers a tiny TV (almost a mini size). We stayed in many hotels around the world and even starless hotels had bigger TVs.
4. Bed was very uncomfortable (very hard mattress)
What we liked - the view from the balcony on Zurich Lake.

Staff very friendly but the price is not worth it for the service offered. Rooms look very old and cold.

Good location, 10 mins walk from the old town. Rooms are spacious and clean, front desk staff was very nice.
