Old fashioned decoration but with taste. Easy access to transport throughout the city. The rooms have adequate dimensions. Calm and secure place to stay. Nice to travel with family.

Stunning views, handy to transport and a period elevator.
I was on the top floor and one morning seen about 40 hot air balloons fly over the lake, stunning..

Very old structure so no noise insulation at all. You hear every sneeze in the other rooms, and you hear every flush of other toilets and the water flowing down down other drains. You also hear the exhaust fans of the bathrooms flapping when they are on next door. I was in a quiet room and wore earplugs. The thing is, if you don't get any sleep, there's not much that can be done, and the raison d'etre of a hotel room is to allow you to get some rest.

The rooms themselves are small and worn. Nothing noticeable on the way of upkeep (old carpets for example). The bathrooms, however have been recently refurbished and are modern.

Breakfast is decent, and service was friendly. I wish this fact could have tipped the scales for this review.

    - The manager approached me quietly after breakfast regarding this post. I should mention that this was done in a civil and courteous manner. He offered to help, but there is not much to be done when you've lost a night of sleep already, and where the source of the issue is primarily architectural. It was a nice gesture, though, and the service of the staff was good.

Fine hotel for a reasonable price. Good service, single room was small but adequate, very nice bathroom. Excellent WiFi.
