The Funny Farm Hotel is simple but welcoming, and fair prices! I enjoyed my experience there and would definitely go back again.
Nice Location
Good View from hostel room
Nice bar and lounge
Next to public transport, only in front of hostel the bus stop
Lift to higher floors
Helpfull and informative stafs
But
Hostel need renovation, especially the bed
Stayed 2 nights in a private room with bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was good value, but the room was a bit shabby and in need of a good renovation, there was mould round the bath, and holes in the duvet cover. Although it was cheap, it was only slightly cheaper than the small family run hotel we stayed for our final night, which was much much better.
Decent location, rooms could be a bit cleaner, service was alright. However free parking and nice common areas.
I was on the first floor of this place and I witnessed something really crazy. One drunk guy came into the place and asked an Asian girl if she had a lighter. She didn't have one and, all of sudden, the drunk guy went off the deep end and threw a cigarette pack towards the girl's face.
She talked to the owner of this place and the manager but their responses pissed me off more. Apparently the drunk guy was the owner's friend and they hesitated to take any action. The owner and the manager sarcastically asked the girl what she would like them to do AND sarcastically asked her if she would be satisfied if they call police. Eventually Everyone who has witnessed this none-sense scene got pissed off and the manager and the owner apologized to the girl.
Personally I think safety and security are the most important factors of running hotel/motel/hostel businesses. This place is irresponsible and does not consider customers' security to be a serious matter.
PLEASE If you care about yourself and your accompanies, do not let yourself and your friends sleep in danger and do not ruin your amazing trip by choosing this hostel.
Nice and cheap place to stay. Their night club is very happening
This was one of the best hostels for location and view. The room had a balcony overlooking the back garden area and the alps in the distance. There was a great pool area with food and drinks and places to bbq your own food. They also offered great advice to do amazing things and we're right next door to an amazing outdoor activities company for all your canyoning, bungee jumping etc.
Funny Farms was great. The ladies at the front were very kind and helpful and spoke very good english. They gave us a free bus pass and map. Wifi is good. There are lots of free amenities such as a pool and coffee. Overall I loved funny farms and definitely recommend it.
The hotel opened in 1895 and has the feel of an old classy alp lodge. I stayed with friends in the hostel and it was great. Not many outlets for charging, but the rooms were clean and ours had a balcony with an epic view of the mountains. The hotel has a nice pool and they cook out by the pool. It is a 2 minute walk to all of the bars in town. It was a very nice experience all around.
Decent enough place. No problems, the washing machine was tiny and the tokens cost 5 Franks which was bullshit. Luckily we discovered that a 5 euro cent coin will work in its place. Spread the word!
