Pricey would never have stayed here if it wasn't for my work covering the cost. However staff is super friendly. Nice live music in the bar. Casino conveniently attached. BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING. The italian restaurant was amazing too. Huge rooms - very clean. If you don't mind the price, I would recommend.

The room with panoramic view was beautiful. The view of the pond below and the old town of Bern was breathtaking. Electric outlets are needed next to the bed though. Breakfast very good. Worth the money.

The Hotel Allegro Kursaal is a business-class hotel associated with the casino. It is located right across the river from the old town, and is very easy to access by tram.
The building has atrium styling, with the rooms facing into the central balcony/corridor. The rooms are airy, and some face onto the garden. The air conditioning was quite a relief.
There is a good breakfast buffet in the Asian restaurant on the ground floor. There is also a decent bar, with a patio and garden adjacent.
Very typical Allegro brand hotel--decent amenities and some artistic touches.response / report this review -

We were in Bern for one night, but (at about 7pm) a suspicious lunch from a French railway station caught up with me and I got struck down by the worst food poisoning of my life. Being really sick is bad enough, but when it's in another country it takes on a whole new level.
The staff here were unbelievably accommodating. Hooked us up with a local pharmacy, extended our checkout to a ridiculous 4pm while we waited for the medicine to kick in, offered to let us stay an extra night if we needed - didn't charge us a cent extra, but gave us an absolutely priceless level of customer service.
There was also an amazing view, a big room with a nice balcony, and a couple of great looking restaurants that I plan to come back to and try some day. Thank you, Hotel Allegro, for making a really rough 24 hours a little more bearable.response / report this review -

My wife and I stayed for two nights, 25 & 26 March 2017.
Check In fast and we had a very nice room (403). All room amenities very modern and clean.
From the balcony, we could see the Old Town, and mountains in the distance.
An easy 5 minute walk across the bridge to the Old Town.
We had drinks and food in restaurant both mornings and evenings. The breakfast restaurant is very nice and open. Overall the breakfast buffet was nice although we were both disappointed in bread and buns, being too dry. That is only issue with breakfast. The Giardino restaurant and bar are very nice. Food was good and all the staff extremely good. Service was fast on all occasions.

Not the first time at the Allegro. The only setbacks for me are the beds, which are maybe too soft, and the shower, that depending on the room you are in might have pressure or fluctuating temperature. Even though, very nice place to stay.

We had a nice stay in a clean room with chic interior. The room was always a little bit too warm for us though we tried to control temperature. Once we had a dinner at restaurant Giardino, which offered a good wine and food. After four nights stay at hotel we can say we are satisfied and would like to come again.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, excellent beds and a great pillow selection. I really liked the design and decor, it's more modern than other places I've been to in Switzerland. Nice bar and breakfast.
