Fun, contemporary rooms. Very helpful staff. The restaurant, Scala, was a good dining experience as well.

Before I start my review, I would like to thank Sandra for providing a lot of details about the various rooms that were available. Speaking to Sandra several times, my fiancé and I were able to book what we believe was the best suite in the hotel. As he had told her in person, her genuine desire to help and her kindness made booking this hotel a no brainer. My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights in suite 513. It was magnificent. Firstly, I can’t say enough great things about the staff at Montana. Everyone, from the concierge to the waiters were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always with a smile and ready to answer questions and be of service ! One particular gentleman, Boris, was very knowledgeable, gave us tips, and helped us plan some sight seeing around Lucerne that was magnificent.
The small little details really just make this a four star hotel a five star experience. Firstly, the whole ambiance of this hotel was modern, warm, and inviting. The staff of course made it even warmer! There were little things like fresh fruit put out in the hall as treats, warm seats on the toilet 🙊🙊, and just lots of other small little conveniences everywhere. We were very satisfied and comfortable during our stay.
Our penthouse was fabulous in every way. In our opinion, looking at the floor plans, room 513 is the best for all around views of Lucerne and the mountains. The hotel has only two panoramic penthouse suites, room 502 and 513. We highly recommend 513 as it has the superior view with a large jacuzzi tub on the terrace overlooking directly mountain pilatus and the city and lake of Lucerne. You get a king size bed, two separate blankets so you don’t disturb one another :) the bed faces two large windows so you can wake up to magical views. Very clean, very neat, very warm, and romantic. Beautifully decorated with plenty of space to lounge, have breakfast outside, use the jacuzzi, and you get lots of privacy :)
This was a such an amazing stay. I wouldn’t pick another hotel if were ever back in Lucerne :)response / report this review -

So far we are enjoying our stay here.
We don't have one of the best rooms (facing the lakes) so the view is a bit indifferent but the hotel service and staff are excellent. There is no Sauna facility but you can order a Spa experience should you feel inclined.
The food (we opted for half board) has been exceptional and I fear for my already bulging waistline!
The staff are friendly and helpful and all seem to be able to speak multiple languages.
The hotel is on a hill but has its own lift to the road and lakeside. The bus stop is right outside the lift and town is easy to reach three stops away on a 24, 6 or 8 number bus using the free tickets provided by the hotel. Or town is a 15_20 minute walk.
The room is very clean and spacious and has tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, Bose music system, smart TV, safe and fridge. They also provide a Samsung tablet on the writing desk so you can access mail, weather info etc
The electric sockets are different here but the desk staff happily provided me with adaptors so I could charge my mobiles etc
All the usual soaps, shampoo, nail file, shoe horn etc are provided. The room lacks air conditioning and I have found it a little stuffy at night but in fairness I had eaten too much for dinner last night and that may also have affected my sleep!
The bathroom is spotless and has a bath with over head shower, sink with magnifying make up mirror and, a little oddly, a window into the room. Did have fun making faces at my wife mid shower so not all bad!The shower was powerful enough to defoliate an alligator- very refreshing!
Regarding sleep, they have an unusual feature whereby you can choose your pillow from a menu. I left a request for a firmer more supportive pillow and it was in my room when I returned from an outing to mount Titlis today. Looking forward to testing that out tonight!
We booked through Inghams so the organisation of the transfers and rep was fairless. The booking included a free boat trip and daily packed lunches are included- the staff were happy to modify the contents of the packed lunch to suit the individual too.
Staff, food and facilities can make or break a holiday. If the rest of the week turns out as well as this one has started I will be completely satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and holiday booking to anyone.response / report this review -

It was a very unpleasant experience at their bar. My drink got a fly in it, I waited for 15 mins and no one came to my table at all! I walked to the bar and told them to change a new one. They changed it but they charge the new drink on my bill! "Without asking for customer's permission" it was very bad and I definitely won't go back there again!
