The service is impeccable. The owner of the hotel himself checked us in. They picked us up from the train station. And upgraded our room. The view from the balcony was like a painting. The room itself was nothing special decorated very simply. But clean. Breakfast was delicious.

We have stayed at the Alpenrose for many years. Their food is excellent. They always provide a vegetarian entree. They have two friendly family dogs that often help out in the office. The hotel has been in the same family for over 100 years. The front yard provides a magnificent view of the valley. There is a great paved hiking trail that is lighted at night.They pick you up from the train station and they will take you right back to the train station or to the cable car. We have stayed in room 104 which is in the back.A great view of the mountains whether you are in the back or in the front.The rooms are exceptionally clean.They are all wood interiors,very traditional. The lounge is very large and it also has a back bar that is quite romantic. The restaurant provides 5 course meals,.The cheese plate features wonder regional cheeses. The staff is friendly and very attentive. A great breakfast featuring different coffee choices,my favorite is a double expresso, eggs, bacon, fruit, cheese, cereals, croissants,and many great options. The hotel is peaceful and quiet and provides an oasis for the traveler. We have met many people who come back year after year.The summer room with the 6 day hiking pass saves you money. Stay for the full 7 days, you never run out of new trails to try. They send you a Christmas card every year. Recently,the owners had their first child, so perhaps a new generation will keep the hotel in the family,. If you are staying in Wengen , stay here. You will want to come back for many years. Everything really does run on time in Switzerland,and this hotel is wonderful. This is my favorite hotel in the world.

It's a good hotel, I agree. However, they charged me extra 90 Euros for my 1-year old baby (45 Euros per each night). Thus, if you are planning to stay there with your little baby (even a just infant), you should be ready and willing to pay extra money which they will charge you for your baby.

Lovely cute rooms with perfect ambiance for a mountain view traditional chalet style hotel. If you happen to be there on buffet dinner night, you're in for a treat! Stylish dining room and attentive staff.

Lovely hotel to stay, the view is astounding . the rooms are traditional, clean and airy, most have balconys. It's a little walk from the train station on hilly land, but there is a shuttle if you need one.

Fantastic hotel! The staff made us feel very welcome (starting with the minibus waiting for us at the station!). The room was very cosy and super-clean. The food at the restaurant (breakfast and evening meals were included) is very good, too.
