We were visiting friends that stay at the Windtower every winter. Such reasonable rates and very spacious!! I was really impressed and the hot tub was nice too!
Very nice hotel, well located to town - 10 minutes walk. Good breakfast. Rooms - as advertised - are SMALL. Don't be surprised; recommend not spending a lot of time in the room if you are claustrophobic! Lots of public areas so you don't have to stay in the room except to sleep.
Nice enough staff but not very helpful. Old food found in mini fridge. Dated everything. Extremely uncomfortable beds and pillows. No A.C. (they put 2 floor fans in our rooms). Only good thing is location. We ended up leaving early and sleeping in another hotel for the night. Spend the extra $100 and stay in a newer, nicer hotel.
I would say 3.7 Stars. The kitchen was all clean and tidy and had tools and the living room had a balcony which was pretty nice and had a TV and AWESOME WIFI the bed was also comfy and you could dim the lights as well. one problem I had was the shower. The pressure was not enough and it doesn't have a handle you could hold so you don't fall. And it was slippery I fell once and hurt ma butt
Expensive, very tiny rooms. Great free breakfast and coffee. No AC, our room was 27 degrees with two fans and they ran out of portable AC units. Huge deck, like stupidly big and right above the garbage cans so the deck smelled like rotting garbage. No pool, no room service. Had to call to get my room cleaned twice even though I had the "requires cleaning" sign on my door. Had to call to get a face cloth, staff weren't happy to help us. Overall a 2 star experience. Great restaurant though.
Not bad considering the price. Rooms are small. Lobby and many areas could use a refresh . Outside in the rear parking lot there were old appliances and not too tidy.
Nice view from the restaurant and free buffet breakfast and service was good
Underground parking worth $10
No AC in the room . In Summer this is a problem as you have to leave the window open and noise may be an issue.. In room fans helped.
I would rather pay about $50 more for other places.
Don't be fooled by the outside of this building. The balconies and wooden beams are distracting. The staff were extremely rude to my husband upon arrival. We had our kayaks on the back of our truck and were told if we brought them to our room we would be fined. (That's okay we understand) we walked into our room that was maybe the size of a postage stamp. Stepped over our bags all weekend because there's no place to put them. Bathrooms had hair on the floor and the sink and tub were dirty. There was also dirty Kleenex on a shelf in the closet. Not impressed, will not be coming back.
This is a very Decent Place to stay. Rooms are tiny, but the washrooms are shiny. I would have given them 5 stars, if they had bottled water in the rooms. Breakfast was well organized and tasted awesome. The location is very beautiful around this hotel with a patio and clean view of the snow clad mountains 😍
Very nice place to stay. Room was exceptionally clean, beds and pillows were really comfortable and it was quiet, wifi was great except..it was really hot in there and no doubt why there was a fan in the master bedroom. We turned the heat down but it read 26 the entire time we were there. Parking under the hotel is $10.00 which I don't think is acceptable when you are paying to stay, street parking is your only other choice. You did get a voucher for breakfast which we were not too impressed with. Gentleman looking after the room was friendly but for some reason you had to ask for ketchup, salt and pepper, jam, etc. which I thought was a little strange. Food was a two star maybe three, not super hot or flavourful, and not much in the way of fruit. 😊😟☕️🍴
We stayed in the smaller suite of a double room. It was cozy, the bed was OK. They allow pets, so we heard a couple dogs. They had underground parking which was nice. Breakfast was included and looked decent. Would stay again.
The bed was smaller than advertised. We booked a suite with a king bed, but was a queen. It had a foam topper, that was too small as well. The bed is very uncomfortable. The room itself was okay. Nothing fancy, but comfy. The walls are thin as are the doors. You can hear the next rooms conversation if it's an adjoining room, as well as all the noise from the hallways. We had a bunch of screaming kids running up and down the halls in the evening. You can also hear the noise from the highway. The restaurant is good. We had the breakfast buffet twice and the dinner buffet once. The food is quite good for the price and they refill it constantly. The servers are very friendly as well.
The bed was nowhere near a queen and it was a double at best. Place looks better from the outside than it does on the inside. The room we were in had a small bar fridge whose compressor would turn on a few times an hour and it was quite loud. Speaking of loud, the bathroom fan is extremely loud and it doesn't help that the bed is right next to said bathroom. Would I stay here again? Only if I were in a pinch. Luckily the free breakfast was actually surprisingly good and the front office staff was half decent.
The first room we were given had a mattress that sounded like a rusty swing set whenever someone moved. When we complained we were moved to a smaller room with no apologies given for the inconvenience. The rooms are small with dated decor, though the bathrooms have been updated. There is no A/C, only fans in the room. The hot tub deck was peeling and there were no robes in the room. Despite being told that a late checkout would be no problem the night before we were leaving, the front desk called our room 15 minutes after the regular check out time to ask us when we were leaving. On the plus side, the complimentary breakfast was pretty good by free breakfast standards.
