Had a great experience with this garage. From fitting me into their schedule on a Friday, diagnosing the issue and making the repair - I was impressed with it all. Honest, reliable, definitely recommend. I will certainly come back next time my car needs it.
Really patient with all the questions I had about bringing my vehicle from out of province. Were honest, and up front about pricing and even matched a friendly competitor to make it all the better. I had a small concern post work and they were happy to address and follow up with my concerns. 100% recommended. Thanks especially to Fran and Peter!
Great work & honest service. They take the time to explain what needs to be done & why, then fix what needs fixing. Also a good place for tires - they just caught a separated tread that my (former) tire shop missed & got me a set of Michelins at a competitive price. Nice to find a shop you can trust!
Since we live in a different town, we didn't have a chance to see the car in person, but after speaking to the dealership and seeing pictures, we felt it was worth proceeding. Luckily, we asked these guys to do a pre-purchase vehicle inspection first though. Gary agreed to take a look that same week. The dealership didn't bring the car on the day they said they would. Gary called to let us know about the delay, even though he figured the dealership would call us as well, but wanted to call himself too as a courtesy. Well, he's the only person that told us about the delay, the dealership didn't call. The next day, when he received the car, he noticed that visually the car was not in great shape. So before proceeding with the inspection, he called and asked if I was aware of the paint and bumper issues. I was not! The pictures did not show any issues, and the dealership didn't mention anything either. We were grateful that Gary called prior to doing the inspection as there was no point in paying for the inspection since we knew we no longer wanted the vehicle. We offered to pay for the time they spent on the car (because he still gave it a quick look over and popped by hood, etc), but they told us there was no charge. We were really impressed by the professionalism and courtesy we were shown!
I have been a customer for almost 10 years. Pete the co-owner is a straightforward, honest operator. I take my car to them, Explain the issues, and leave it in their hands. I have been getting the best results ever since fair price and honest opinion on what’s wrong and what needs to be done. I do recommend these guys. BTW the fix all sorts of cars with the reasonable price.
My experience with Victoria Transmission was excellent from start to finish. A transmission job is no small undertaking, but Gary walked me through it thoroughly and did his best to provide all of my options and outcomes. The communication was clear, friendly, and professional. The commitment to customer service well exceeds five stars. The follow-up service was just as courteous and helpful. I have absolutely no hesitation in my recommendation of Victoria Transmission.
Very impressed with the level of service Peter and the team at Vic Trans has done with my truck. It was quite the project with my vehicle, but the whole time it was in their care - I knew it was in good hands. Throughout the servicing there were some unexpected speed bumps - at no fault of the shop, other parts just needed attention - and their quality of customer service was above and beyond to mitigate the additional work. Couldn’t be happier, thanks guys!
Peter and Gary and all the employees are amazing. They’re super busy, but they always take the time to call with updates and explain and show you everything they are doing. They know I take my vehicle into the backcountry and need quality parts and they always make sure everything is safe and properly done and I won’t end up stranded. They’ve gone above and beyond to do last minute repairs for me several times, enabling me to catch a last minute ferry and not have to cancel a trip.
My experience with Victoria Transmission was very positive. Both owners, Peter and Adam, were fabulous. Adam set up the original appointment, pretty much guaranteeing I would be satisfied with their service. Peter explained carefully everything they would do so that I completely understood it (I have very limited mechanical knowledge). This involved sensors and the catalytic converter. Adam was right on; I was more than satisfied with the great work they did, all in a timely manner, and no surprises. I really appreciated their professionalism, as well as their patience and friendliness. I'll be back for sure!
Unless you have a family member who’s a mechanic, these are the folks you want to be dealing with! We recently moved to Victoria. Since we didn’t know a mechanic I went to a big box shop for an oil change & was told I needed a steering rack replacement ($1500) because of a leak. Went to Victoria Transmission (thanks to a referral from a neighbour) for a second opinion. They explained exactly what was going on & said it wasn’t an immediate problem, but the kind of thing that comes with an eight year old vehicle. Told me what to watch for & said that checking this kind of thing gets done with every oil change. No pressure, no hassle & no grab for a quick buck. Great service & honest, practical advice!
I have tried several garages in Victoria and these people are the best. They do the job right, and they have never tried to push unnecessary repairs on me.
Efficient, straightforward service. Always happy to help. I don't take my trucks anywhere else.
Had a great experience here with back struts that needed to be replaced. Dropped it off in the morning expecting to get the car the next day and they called in the afternoon to say the car was ready! They came in under budget and were so incredibly approachable and honest. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these folks to a friend.
I had gone to another shop and was told that the front brake pads had to be replaced. I was also told that the CV axle had to be replaced. The cost of these repairs would have been over $2,000.
My Subaru Forester was checked over by Victoria Transmission. They said neither of these repairs were necessary at this time. I asked that they do a thorough diagnosis and a test drive. This was done and again, I was told that these repairs were not needed at this time.
I was so impressed as I basically went in there expecting to pay over $2000. An unscrupulous repair shop would have went ahead with these unnecessary repairs. Since the inspection, I've driven over 2,000 kilometres, without any problems from these two items.
I am one of those people that when it comes to car repairs, people always seem to try and rip me off. I went in there thinking that I needed a really expensive job done. Which if they were dishonest as sadly I'm used to, they could have easily charged me $1000.00 or more. I was sure that repair was needed. They informed me that I was wrong, and the job was in fact easy and cheap. It's so nice to find honest, and kind people working to help keep us happy and safe on the road. I highly recommend them, and will return. They even greet you by name when you arrive for an appointment, very welcoming. :)
My son and I used the services of Victoria Transmission and Auto Care to inspect a car for us - Pre purchase! These folks are great! Not only did they get us in on short notice, but they took the time to explain exactly what they were looking for and when we came back they explained in great detail, their findings. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. Great service, super friendly staff and excellent pricing. Thanks so much!
