I've stayed twice at this resort and both times have had a relatively good experience. I do think the rooms are dated and I am not a huge fan of the restaurant. However, it is close to the beach and has a lovely spa.
Beautiful room, amazing view. The Chef's selections tapas were simple, yet homey and presented beautifully. They left us wanting more yet unable to. The mineral pool before was peaceful and relaxing. Staff were extremely friendly.
We have stayed here a few times over the years. Nicely appointed rooms, clean. Grotto pool is awesome. This time we had relaxing massages and dinner upstairs. Service was excellent, food was a bit better than average.
The service at Tigh-Na Mara was great. The grounds were also very well kept and it is certainly a beautiful location. A quick walk down a ramp and you are at a great sandy beach that is awesome at low tide. The rooms are rustic and well laid out. The room however, was not clean. There was an old sock in the bathroom from the previous people, dirty carpet and food smears on the patio door. There is lots of room for improvement there. The workout room was excellent and the pool was nothing fancy and nice.
The restaurant has excellent service and the breakfasts are great. The dinner was OK and expensive for the quality. That is consistent with a previous stay there.
I went with two friends, we spent two nights. The cabin we stayed in was nice, quite, clean, the beds were comfy and the room had a funky little kitchenette.
I had a burger the first night, it was delicious.
I had the tenderloin the next night and it was served perfectly. Short walk to the beach for sunrise.
We also spent a great deal of time in the spa and then had the endless tapas, in our robes! Would recommend you make the trip.
I was here for a wedding in 2016. Rooms were dirty, the bed was terrible. The rooms were just bad overall. Spacious though. Our room had a lovely view of the highway with trucks zipping by starting at around 5am. If you are rich and want a terrible outdoorsy fake experience. This is your place.
We had done the 2 bedroom cabin. Very clean and nice. One of the bedroom doors didn't open all the way - bed stopped it. If it was a bigger person, they wouldn't be able to comfortably access room. I bumped my elbow or knee. The directions for fire place said to look for 'temperature knob right of the fire place' but it doesn't state for electric only. There's no info on using a manual one or if there's any fire place tool set. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Mineral pool was a bit overrated and seemed bigger in the photos. The quick dial buttons on the phone to the spa/resturant etc didn't work. So had to bug front desk to have them transfer the call.
Clean rooms. Beautiful views. Good food at Central restaurant. Excellent spa and related service. No jetted tub in room. No room service . Smallish rooms but we'll furnished rooms. Nice deck to look over beach.
My friend ordered a fancy hamburger here and could barely find it in the bun! Seriously, it was pretty funny as we thought they had forgotten I can still see her face as she searched through her hamburger looking for the meat. However, much appreciated the Tesla destination charger. Thats why they get four stars instead of three
The room was cozy and the exposed wood was a nice touch. Had an ocean view and it made the whole experience. The beach was amazing to walk on, and there was a lot of it. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the food was excellent. The staff were all friendly. A very positive experience.
Spent one night and loved it! The view was amazing and the room was really nice. Loved having the gas fireplace and the jacuzzi tub. A couple things could have used a bit of attention but overall a great experience.
Very nice midrange family resort. Banquet, wedding and conference. Facilities and activities for the whole family. Beach access with snack shack. Close to provincial park, town, restaurants and shops. Not luxurious but very nice log buildings with modern interiors and all mod cons. Restaurant and lounge. Spa.
We had a good time and staff are great but I was expecting more. On the positive the places are big enough to sleep six people comfortably, it's a nice beach and cute area with pretty friendly staff but it's an old property that needs a lot of maintenance around the resort. Our townhouse had ants and so did the one next door. The spa and grotto book really fast so book weeks in advance. The grotto is $40 and you can use it all weekend If you can get a spot so chances are you might only use it once, if at all and you can see it before entering. The free pool and hot tub isn't very nice or very big. Book early for sure, in March it was packed.
We often stay here when we want to take a short trip out of vancouver. The first time we came here years ago was for a New Years eve package. The spa has a neat deal where you use the pool then go to the Treetop Lodge for drinks and tapas. The beach is also great when the weather is nice. The best is to try and find a special (call the reservation number) for the time you want to spend here. I would advise to take a spa bungalow.
