Love the pastries here! The cakes, tarts, sugar brioche, etc. are so good that I would rather "spend my calories" on these sweet offerings even though each portion is relatively petite.
Drinks are quite small but very tasty. Service is good - excellent depending who is working. The sandwiches are very delicious, but limited so get there early.
This place is the best. Not a lot of room to enjoy inside because it's always busy but it's the greatest quality. Take out a birthday cake or something for a romantic evening.
Completely love this patisserie. It's by far the best in town, everything is made fresh everyday and by 5pm they are practically sold out. They have fantastic viennoseries and pastries as well as a chocolates. They offer expresso based coffee an tea as well. Service is great but it can get really busy, the also have free parking at rear.
Zero ambience because clientele is snobby and definitely not cool (this is the midday crowd, morning crowd was better). Croissants are great coffee not good, kind of burned actually. The lady next to me had so much perfume it made me gag.
This place is amazing! Their pastries are crafted beautifully, with attention to the details of each layer. You can really taste the difference in the chocolate that is being used. The sweetness is not over powering and actually help enhance the nuttiness of the hazelnut ( in the case of the hazelnut praline), great with a cup coffee. All this at a very reasonable price of $6-7! I will definitely visit here again.
This place is awesome! It has some of the most unique and delicious cakes that I have ever tasted. I'd recommend specific ones, but there's no need. They are all great! It's on the pricey side, which keeps it to special occasions for us, but it's well worth the money.
Thomas Haas been a favorite stop of mine for over 10 years. However today I went to enjoy a croissant and hot chocolate in the morning and was dismayed to find the server was rude and ignored me for about 5 minutes before rushing to help the customers behind me whom had quite literally been pushing to get past. It was also incredibly noisy and the atmosphere seemed far from the European patisserie I had been anticipating. I will save my pennies and enjoy croissants from many other fabulous locations around the city that have more balanced atmospheres and respectful staff.
I have been to Thomas Haas on West Broadway a couple dozen times now. There is always a line up but it's worth the wait. I give myself a solid hour to have a coffee and pastry, then take something home to share 🙂
I have been here many times. It never disappoints me. I always love their double baked almond croissants, hot chocolate, different types of cakes and chocolates. I would be drooling even though I talk about them.
Currently, they are selling Easter chocolate eggs as Easter is coming soon. I got hot chocolate and double baked chocolate almond croissant this time. They were delicious. I personally only come here for hot chocolate if I have to drink something. Their almond croissants are warm, crispy, and crunchy with sliced of almond on top. Yummy!!
It is always good to come back here once in a while to eat their cakes and pastries and have a cup of hot chocolate. Of course buy some chocolates to take home.
My wife loves this place and I can see why. The quality is amazing. It;s very expensive but is worth it. They have lots of pastries and cakes. Long line, but staff are nice and the quality of ingredients is great.
Excellent service. Great desserts. Fresh pastry and extremely delicious chocolate. Loyal customer for 3 years. Thomas Haas is getting better each year.
A Vancouver gem! Consider this: my dentist's office is nearby. Each time I go to dentist and get uncomfortably numb, I still come here after my appointment and enjoy a double baked almond croissant. It's the best! Also, we have a tradition with my friends and we always get our birthday cakes from here! I have tried the passion fruit, the dark chocolate, the chocolate hazelnut. They have all been awesome! You just cannot go wrong with Thomas Haas. Thank you for being in Vancouver! Now, let me find out when am I visiting my dentist next ;)
