An iconic location for high quality coffee in Victoria. Also has a co-working space. Chill vibe, hipster friendly, and one of the places that shows how much Victoria is changing to a larger city.

Best coffee shop in town, as far as I am concerned. The coffee is fantastic. The creativity of the drinks that they come up with is fabulous.

There are so many factors that go into an experience of a coffee shop and every little detail goes a long way. That being said, this is only my personal review and opinion and will highlight both good and bad. The reviews and raves about this place are what brought us to this cute little shop in the first place. Appearance was very cute and embodied a very unique and welcoming environment. The simplistic modern design and open, earthy layout was very homey and made me want to sit and stay a while. Upon first entry, we were not immediately greeted which, would have been okay if the baristas were in conversation with another customer at the counter but they were watching a video on the iPad at the front counteronce it was time to order, the barista who then greeted us and took our order was super nice and very friendly, she asked how our day was etci placed my order since I am pretty consistent: medium iced latte with honey and non dairy milk. I get this drink everytime (minus a London fog once a month). My partner on the other hand likes to switch it up so when we asked the baristas suggestion she said "well you could just get what she got." It's a pretty common thing for baristas to be nervous about suggesting drinks to customers so it's not necessarily a bad thing, but there was no "wow" factor about the process. So instead of getting a unique custom drink I just got my partner an iced late with hemp and hazelnut. Once we paid, tipped, and sat down in their cute little window seating (which was super cute and cozy! Great touch!!) We waited for our drinks to be done and watched as more people lined up for their morning cup. After about five minutes, I notices a gentleman walk out with his latte and was curious if ours were ready. Being that his was a latte and ours were a bit more complicated I figured it would be a little while longer but they were just sitting on the counter. We walked up to get our drinks and the barista said "oh, I thought you were outside, sorry." Again, nothing bad, I have two legs so it was no problem to stand up and get our coffees at the counter, but being that there were two of them, it would have added just a little more "wow" if they would have ran it out to us super quick and thanked us for coming in. Coffees in our hand and smiles on our faces, we walked out, super excited to try this coffee that has been raved about..but when we tasted it.it was definitely not high quality and was distinctly overextracted leaving a sour, burnt-cheerio flavor behind without any of the warm, rich caramel notes of normal espresso. I've been a coffee shop manager for many years and have strived to stress the importance of brewing and extracting coffee and espresso and the craftsmanship that is required to deliver the best shots of espresso every time to all of my employees. Being a barista requires a very distinct set of skills and constant attention to detail. The air quality the day I came in was extremely humid, much different from the previous day and greatly affects how espresso is pulled. I'm betting that the humidity played a role in the quality of my drink, and would love to give this place another try. This review says nothing about any of their drinks other than the ones I walked out with, and hope that you give this place a try. It is never too late for growth and learning. Good luck!

Excellent baristas brewing coffees from local roasters with great attention, including Drumroaster. The owner was previously a bar-tender and has a gift for pairing flavours and has come up with his own coffee blend 👌🏼

This friendly place serves the best coffee in town (Drum Roaster from cobble hill). Actually the only place downtown. Great atmosphere - cozy and some places to enjoy the sun.

A beautiful space that feels so incredibly welcoming. People chatter friendly chatter -- there's a feeling of community here. The baristas speak to patrons like we've been personally invited to be here :)

Kalen changed my life for the better once i walked in the door 4 years ago. The minute you walk in its like the staff has known you since school days. And the vanilla latte is the best in the city and i checked to make sure

This wee gem is so close to my work. I feel fortunate. In the summer heat I have been devouring their delicious & carefully created iced mocha. Perfect! Not too sweet. Friendly & professional service. I look forward to fall coffee experiencesKim.

Delicious. Great staff and the owner speaks different languages, has a magnetic personality, and makes you feel welcome. After one visit he remembered our names. Clean modern atmosphere with a touch of local art. A nice spot to refresh and reflect. Coming here again.
