Underwhelmed at best.
My steak was cooked correctly but poorly seasoned, but I can get over that as it's a personal preference.
My wife's salmon had THREE bones in it. When it was brought up to the server she said "oh ok" didn't find it odd she was taking away half full plates and didn't include any kind of discount on the boney salmon. At $40 a plate and more my wife shouldn't be picking bones out.
Very unsatisfied with the way this was handled (as in not at all and here's the bill).
If you want a nice steakhouse in Banff pick somewhere else. You don't get value for your dollar here.response / report this review -

I asked if I could just have some seafood, as it was only on the menu in steak combos. The waitress was great and said of course have whatever you like, so I had king crab, grilled prawns, baked potato and asparagus. It was delicious. The rest of the party enjoyed their choices too. A great night out with superb food and service.

Very good steaks cooked exactly as ordered for us. Perhaps should have done without starters as couldn't finish main course and certainly couldn't contemplate dessert. Not cheap. Great service.

Party of 4. Two orders of bacon wrapped chicken, 1 peppercorn steak and a surf & turf = all prepared very well. Friendly staff and drinks were awesome. We had originally planned on going to the other Keg on Banff Ave. because of reviews. We arrived there at 9:50 PM only to find out the kitchen was closed! So, back to our hotel after a quick phone call, as they told use the kitchen would be open until 10:30. BONUS! Saved the whole night after an awesome long day site seeing.

For a restaurant of this caliber I expected the kitchen knows the difference between the various 'rare' stages of steaks. Unfortunately, it doesn't. My rare order came as medium done. Only one side included. Everything else is extra order. It's a relaxed atmosphere, however without GREAT service - attentiveness to details by the wait staff is missing. Lastly, the Zinfandel is a very odd selection for price listed (or the bottle was sitting open for too long). Things got alright when reordering the Chilean Merlot. Three stars are an overstatement.

The wait was about 50 minutes. After we were finally sat and was ready to order they informed us that prime rib was sold out. They did not even give us any warning while we waited for 50 min that there was no more prime rib.

Essentially the same as many other Keg restaurants. They seemed to be out of stock on a few items, but the waiter was fantastic in compensating in our meal for us. Overall a pleasant visit.

Keg food great as always. Good atmosphere but not quite as nice as the other kegs I've been to. More of a half way to a cabin feel but still feels like a hotel restaurant a bit

It's a good place for lunch because it's generally pretty quiet and the food service is fast. In the evening it gets a bit more hectic, but the food quality is good. Their mushroom soup with a Keg burger or the New York cut with a double baked potato are a good choice if you aren't sure what to get. Their deserts are really good as well but the portions are a little bit big for 1 person.
