Had a good steak and received pleasant service for the 9 of us. All meals were good. Great beers on tap.

We had lobster Mac and Cheese, $24.00 and there was NO LOBSTER. Huge mushrooms and bacon. When we first started going the lobster was in good pieces it’s gone downhill since then.

Great spot in Canmore. Beautiful views of mountains from the large deck outdoor patio. Like area is a great place to visit and even watch a game. Solid food and great beer and wine selection.

Very tasty food, very filling. Their desserts looked fantastic (we sadly did not have the room to order more food). Not low-sodium if that's what you're looking for, but holy sh** their yam fries are amazing.

Excellent patio and great views but the food is not very good at all. We ordered the pad thia salad and noticed that the table across from us actually sent theirs back it was so bad. We also ordered the beef brisket sandwich and it was sub par for a $19 dollar plate. Yam fries however were excellent.

The food was excellent. They have a large patio that at least equals the interior. Some will consider it at the mid to high end in cost. It is well worth it. But to look for a fault, you would have to go to the dark washroom (poor lighting & color scheme) it is always busy, so get a reservation or get inline.

his place was truly awful. We made a reservation online. Don't bother. She seated 5 tables in front of us that were walk ups. Then once seated inside, the chairs were sinking in so badly that you felt too short for the table. The waitress was obviously frazzled as she brought my 13 year old son a vodka soda instead of the sprite that he requested. She tried to give my daughter a cocktail as well, but thank goodness it was purple and we knew that she ordered a lemonade. He stated that it tasted funny and had me try it. Mistakes happen, but good grief. They should really consider having non-alcoholic drinks in different glasses than their cocktails. We waited for over 40 minutes for our food and when it arrived it was cold and over cooked. The manager walked over and asked how we were doing. We had just watched her rude interaction with another table that was upset over the wait; so we certainly were not going to get into it with her. I truly have no idea why there is such a wait for this place. The patio is lovely, but that seems to be all it has going for it.

I gave this a one star based solely on the customer service. It was awful. We waited 20 minutes to be served (I had to ask the hostess if we had a waitress). She was not very polite at all. We sat on the patio which was very nice. The food was decent. I wish I had read the other reviews before going here. There seems to be a theme of bad customer service. I think part of the reason is that it is a tourist town where it is hard to get employees so these places are stuck with who they get in order to run their business.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon at 2PM for some lunch..hostess asked us to wait one minute before she seated us as she ran out menus. Literally five minutes passed before she came back and by then a huge line had formed behind us to be seated. Once seated, the atmosphere was loud and chaotic, which is usually a great atmosphere if its organized. Waitresses were bustling by us literally making us feel as if we were invisible. We waited for fifteen minutes without getting even a single gesture from a waitress passing by that she would be right with us. We made the decision to get up and leave as we wanted to eat and apparently we weren't there to be served? Nobody cared as we left.we even tried to tell the hostess on our way out but we were ignored. Terrible experience at The Wood. Don't go here if you are looking for good service, .

Excellent place for a quick bite, whether just transitioning through the town or working for the season. We had the wings really good, and the bartender Paul was in great spirits ready to serve us at any moments notice! The patrons freindly and talkative ready to strike up conversation, easy to kill time on a split shift!

The first time I came to The Wood last year it was delicious, yesterday. not so good! I ordered the 3 mushroom steak which was $32 with the roasted potatoes. They must've got a new cook on the kitchen because the roasted potatoes used to be baby potatoes, now they're like baked potato wedges and the steak 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 You'd think paying 32 bucks you'd get a decent piece of meat, not here. I had to send my first steak back after requesting medium rare and getting a medium cooked baseball sirloin how do you over cook a baseball sirloin! Then after waiting almost 10-15 minutes for my new one, my boyfriend was almost finished his dinner I finally got mine. Even with my new medium rare steak it was still almost dry on the exterior and I got the equivalent of 2 cut up mushrooms in my sauce! Normally in any other restaurant you would get some sort of comp or free dessert option, not here not even a sorry for overcooking your steak. All in all I definitely won't be going back here anytime soon, at least not for steak, I would rather make the trek to Banff and go to one of the many steakhouses they have.
