Good crowd and fun to bowl. Long wait times on the weekend which is expected considering its downtown and actually a fun place. Food sucks just go for the drinks and atmosphere
Waited for 1 1/2 hrs for a lane to be told we'd have to wait 2 more hours. Food, drink and servers were still good.
Good selection of drinks, friendly bartenders. Good music. But generally service is terrible. We had been sitting 30 minutes until waitress came. She didn’t clean the table from previous customers, probably she was thinking that this is busser’s job. Buster didn’t do that as well. We spent our dinner at dirty table. I had to go and order drinks at the bar, cause waitress was busy counting money. Had to clean the table by myself as well.
In conclusion, good place to come and listen to music, have couple drinks, but don’t expect service and respect.
This place was fun when we were bowling, but was horrible managed. We called about a month in advance to organize a surprise birthday party and were told that they don't do reservations on weekends. Fine. We went early to make sure we got our names in for a lane and we thought we would eat and have drinks upstairs while we waited. We got there and asked how long it would take to get a table for 10 people and said sorry they were all booked up due to reservations confused we went downstairs to the bar area and sat down at some tables and were promptly told that we had to move because they were reserved for a party. When we asked about why we were told we couldn't reserve, they said, "You have to call more than a day in advance." We called a month in advance and were just told we CAN'T reserve. So I wouldn't recommend this place for any planned parties. It's also very expensive for 1 hour of bowling. $80 for 1 hour plus $5 per shoe rental.
Fun indoor bowling alley and sports bar. Great for a group event. However, food was not great. Probably just best to stick to the drinks.
Good to spend some fun time on bowling and other games they have upstairs but the food and service may not be that satisfactory. Also the building is kind of old and seems need some renovations but still one of better places for very large groups to spend few hours
Great atmosphere, good crowd and good options for drinks and food. It's a really cool place to hang out with friends and unwind and bowl, play pool, or just to grab a table and chat.
The only iffy part of our time at The Ballroom Bowl was that as we bowled the machine which cleared pins would lag or stop half way. It seemed sketchy because most lanes would do that and bowling sessions are on a timely basis.
Staff not friendly at all. Would not tell how long the wait is for the bowling lane. It is so frustrating for customers and I fail to understand why this practice used. There are like 7-8 lanes in total, how hard is it to tell people "oh lane 7 is gone be done in 20min?"
The girl at the desk didn't suggest getting a drink at the bar as an option to us either. I would have gone and gotten a drink but didn't want to after the interaction.
This place is pricey too, but customer service is worse.
My sister's and I would like to give a shout out to ALL the amazing security service people last night upstairs at The Ballroom! We have never had so much fun and felt so safe with this security team. I think it's a great approach from this security company to allow them to interact and have fun with patrons = less trouble and everyone is just enjoy each other :)
Great work Ballroom staff!
Always great fun when we have our office spring event here. Staff acts fast if something is wrong with the lane. Food is okay but I haven't tried their menu outside of the office event. The patio is awesome for relaxing once my team has finished a round.
Was told there was no reservations, so we showed up and ended up getting a table, but half way through the game we were there to watch, we were told we had to leave to accommodate a reservation. After talking to our waitress, she told us we were fine to stay until the end of the game. Unfortunately, we were told after that we needed to leave again by a different server to accommodate a reservation, which apparently they didn't take, so we really didn't understand. Poor management here and poor servers, not very much communication between the two apparently. Very poor experience overall, would not recommend.
Industry nights are the best everything is discounted. Shoes,, bowl time, food/drinks (from my experience back in 2012 - not sure if its the same). I went here early evening on a friday and secured a lane fast.
The ballroom is great for after-work drinks and weekday office bowling parties. The service at the lanes is convenient and the food meets expectations. Upstairs has lots of seating room for large dinner groups and fills up on the weekend for live music or a DJ
I'm mainly rating this for the summer season as the patio is AMAZING! Love the happy hour as well, great cheap drinks. Converts to a stage and dance floor at night with live band. You can choose to have fun with table tennis, bowling or the mini hockey table.
This place is awesome for groups. We went here for bowling on a Saturday afternoon. They have so many shoe sizes, which was great for the size 15 shoes of our group. They have a lot of bowling ball sizes which makes it good for mixed groups. The beer was served at a decent rotation, the nachos were good and when our lane had issues, they fixed it quickly and added time to make up for the loss.
I will say that once it hits 5, the place prices themselves out. Double pricing is ridiculous.
Once we left the bowling area, service lacked in the upstairs. No one even said hi or offered food, drinks, suggestions. We stuck around for ping pong and bubble hockey and no one came to offer anything. They need to work on service in the upstairs, but the bowling was great.
