Stopped by Pravda on a Thursday night. Upstairs was busy so we got settled in a booth downstairs.

Wait staff was slow and quite frankly gave attitude in the beggining when we tried to order a drink at the bar. As if we bothered them. Food was good but it took them nearly an hour to bring appetizers, meat board and caviar.

Went through couple bottles of champagne and few plates of food. The server did not even think of bringing fresh water glasses between the bottles. One would think this is quite normal when you're spending bit of money.

One thing that really bothered me was an automatic 18% gratuity, for a party of three! In this instance they barely deserved 10.

If you want a nice club to dance with your friends it is a good place to mingle. Liquor is not crazy expensive if you know what to order. Single ladies be aware!

Went there on a Saturday night. Man we had a blast. The place is amazing and super different. I really liked the decor. The only weird thing is that they played the Russian anthem at the beginning and end of the the club hours (super long). The waiteress were friendly and the music good (mostly electro). Also we had a show at some point which was nice. Will recommend.

Very unique bar atmosphere. Great happy hour martinis and food specials. We were given free shrimp appetizer (2 jumbo sauteed shrimp) and free vodka samples. Excellent service and cool experience. Check it out.

This is definitely worth visiting for the niche aspect. The decor is amazing. Soviet propaganda everywhere and they really committed to the theme. However, the drinks are strong to the point of being almost undrinkable and are very expensive. The service is lacklustre and a bit weird. Girls in red mini dresses, you can see things you shouldn't! They aren't particularly friendly or helpful. Worth popping in, maybe for Happy Hour.

We came in a bit too early on a Wednesday - the place was empty. But we enjoyed studying the decor and chatting to the staff. The drinks were good.

Tacky decor and atmosphere are kind of fun. It's supposed to be a Soviet Russia themed place. There's lots of vodka, but not that much of the original Eastern European varieties, and selection of food is strange, almost no traditional dishes that actually pair well with vodka. Vodka tasting is the killer, they don't serve enough food with it for it to go well. Service could be much better, they don't know how to deal with customers when issues arise.

Came once and enjoyed the vodkas. Second time, brought a friend on the weekend and the doorman refused us entry because we were wearing jeans. Apparently you need dress pants to enjoy vodka properly. Will not return

Decor is super creative and ranges from 1920s to 1960s Russian and soviet art and propaganda but a bit of a strange place. Music doesn't match the atmosphere. I expected something like an Eastern European night club but it was nothing like it. Trumpet, saxophone players and acrobat are cool for live performances. Vodka selection is great but I hate how they advertised certain crappy Polish and Ukrainian vodkas as "luxurious" when everyone from those countries know they are far from worthy being called that. Go around midnight when they play the USSR anthem and a few old Russian army songs on the trumpet! Probably the highlight of the place.

I've been to Pravda a couple of times.

First time: 11:30 on a Saturday
Busy! Good music, basically becomes a club. Had the Russian anthem playing at one point. Kinda surreal (in a strange way).

Second time: Friday 6 pm.
Happy hour is awesome. The martinis were $6.50 for 2.5oz and they were really well made.
It was quieter than my first time, but they still had decent music blasting and the restaurant was about half full.

Definitely prefer happy hour over club.

I love this place. If you want to go to a club it's a great place. That isn't really my scene, so I go before ten for a vodka tasting. Get a flight and trust the bar tenders

This is one of my favourite places in Toronto.. Midnight is my favourite, they play Russian anthem and then a talented tam tam drummer is playing on a bar.. And a guy beside him is playing on a saxophone.. Highly recommend you to visit

Russian-themed bar, how interesting! Wonderful cocktails, so delicious!!! Happy hours make this a must-visit bar. The seating is extremely odd. There's a gipsy tent near the wall, almost like you're sitting around a fortune teller. But as skinny as I am, I had trouble getting in/out. Other seating are sofas around some centre tables. It's a lounge but there are more furniture than walking space. Plentiful seats, so little privacy! It's like they encourage you to mingle but first, have a seat!

Any bar that allows two pigs to stay after they hit a girl so hard she flies into our booth is nowhere that I'll be giving my money to. Shame, as this was our favourite place to go, and had previously had great times. There were two men who were being absolutely disgusting and disrespectful with multiple women, including myself, and apparently a girl slapped one of them - so this huge man hits her back? I should have slapped him myself, good thing I didn't or I would have been knocked out. The bouncer agreed with the rapey men saying if she slapped him it's fair game. It's absolutely not OK to hit anyone ever, however a small girl slapping a huge guy well over 6 feet is VERY different than him sending her flying. He could have restrained her, called the bouncer to kick her out, call the police, etc. Completely unacceptable. I don't care who the men were or how much money they spent, there is an environment that a bar should want to uphold, and that's not it. I wouldn't feel safe there again, knowing the bouncer thinks it's OK for a man to do that. I feel sickened by the way it was handled by Pravda.

Had our company holiday party here. Restaurant was very narrow so was not a good location to accommodate large groups of people. Food is decent. Had the steak which came out cold. I know it's more difficult to cater to large group functions but it's not excuse to serve cold steak. However I must say that it was still very good. I heard that it's actually provided by Woods which is near by. Not my kind of place so I wouldn't go back for a meal.
