Overall just a really average Japanese restaurant. Didn't order any wine here, but apparently they have a great sake bar..idk. we ordered a lot of food. Everything was just okay, not surprises. You can find most of the menu items in any other sushi restaurant. However, our whole order of prawn gyoza was raw. No apology or explanation was given, just offered to remake or take off the bill. I think the server could have done a better job in that aspect.

Good ambience, service, food and portion sizes. The price is also reasonable for downtown. We had a yam tempura roll, veggie ramen and the avocado and tofu salad. You can tell the ramen broth is authentic, not like a Mr. Noodle's flavour pack like some places. My only complaint is that the tofu in the avocado and tofu salad is uncooked and flavourless.

Used to be good for many years. Service and I believe management changed. Prices are up and food is lousy. Tried 3 times within the year and disappointed every time with food and service.

Love the decor of this place! It has a really old school higher end izayaki place feel. I always come for the stone curry bowl. The blue fin tuna here is also amazing!

I ordered Raman and it tasked exactly like the Nissin package ones from the store, only cost 20x more. Only saving grace was the friendly staff and good location. My daughter ordered the eel rice (don't remember the name), it was so small I can finish it in 3 bites.

Fantastic servicebeen going here for years because of the consistency. Authentic yet modern Japanese cuisine with enough west coast fusion to remind you of the fact that you are in Vancouver. Also, having lived in Japan I really appreciate the genuinely home-cooked meal options you might have found in a nineteenth century Inn that seamlessly mingle with the contemporary concoctions in the "special rolls" section.

It's quite sometime that I dined right
    On Granville St. Downtown. Probably
over two years ago. The staff are all
Japanese and they greet you with
the loud cheers. All very attentive
and helpful. The ribs so tender,
    unagi same. Quite fresh. Busy
and well patronized. Wish them well.

Best Albacore Tuna I have ever had. Whoever gave this a 1 2 or 3 star is out of their mind. It had some of the best sushi I have ever had even their less expensive rolls were great.

The sashimi. So so good. We got the 7-piece tasting menu. Delicious. Even the seaweed salad was amazing. I think the best I've had. It comes on a bed of regular lettuce so it's not over-sauced as some can be.

It was my first Japanese restaurant experience other than sushi and ramen. So I have nothing to compare to. I personally liked the restaurant. Atmosphere was good enough. Staff was welcoming. I have tried eel and liked it. I will go again.

The food was pretty meh especially for the price. Portions were small and flavours weren't quite there.

You're better off visiting a sushi restaurant outside of the downtown core for good quality food at a reasonable price.
