The easiness of deciding to go to class knowing you just need to show up and breath as good usable mats are provided and no need for anything more. It makes for 0 excuses not to go. Love the 40 day challenges too!

I attend the kundalini classes at Semperviva's Sun Studio. (Which are amazing!)
The staff and the community are warm and welcoming every visit.

Too crowded, not too hygienic as I noticed. Yoga mat is already laid down for everyone who wish to use it not sure how often those mats get cleaned and sanitized. Very small change room not to mention both men and women use it.The room temperature is a little cold. Teachers are great though, they're in fact very knowledgeable except for this one weird teacher who talked too much. All you wanna do is practice yoga and be relaxed and not to listen and be lectured about the universe and planets etc etcsorry I just have to say all this it was just too much to handle. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Here's what I love about Semperviva. It's refreshingly genuine. It has great teachers, no matter which studio/type of yoga you want to practice. (In fact I love that I have choices of venue, teacher and time.) The Granville Island studio is where I go most. Ok, so I'm supposed to keep my eyes closed for some of the class, but it's hard when you're in such a beautiful studio, with this view on to the water. It's an unusual studio in that it's on a split level - and carpeted. For me a little out of the ordinary is a good thing. Feeling spoilt

I've been practicing at Semperviva for years and it's such a great place to practice. Friendly community, great teachers and the studio has always been clean. Never have I seen any issues with mouse droppings and I'm always at the studios in classes. It's my favourite studio!

I was aghast today when practicing the asana downward dog I noticed mouse droppings and then as I checked to make sure that is what they were I noticed a poison baited mousetrap hidden behind the speaker. I almost walked out of the studio but did not want to alarm my fellow yogis.

Last week I noticed a large toenail clipping that had been there two weeks ago - I assume the studio is not cleaned well. I am disgusted by the slovenly upkeep of the Semperviva studios and will terminate my membership immediately.

As an aside, because of the constant groupons for Semperviva (which speaks volumes) the studios are overly crowded and uncomfortable; as a result, I have noticed the teachers no longer make adjustments if the pose attempted by a yoga is misaligned and could cause damage (especially chaturangas, which if done incorrectly creates havoc with the shoulders).

Choose another studio - Semperviva is not what it used to be.
