I recently got a dog, and this was my first experience going to vetinary clinic. I read and saw the reviews and decided to take my dog to this clinic. I took my dog twice to this clinic. Once to the first consultation and second for the last shot and follow up check up.
The doctor and staff were nice and all, but something just did feel right. First off I was brought in to an examination room for the consultation, but everything and anything done to my dog was done in the back behind close doors. I was left alone in the exam room. I didn't feel a ease like they didn't want to see something. After the second visit the same thing they took my dog to the back and left me alone again in the exam room. All the while I'm thinking what was the point of the exam room. If they didnt want me to see them treating my dog they should have just had me wait in the waiting area in the front.
The other things that I thought were odd was both times were I had to wait 5 to ten minutes to settle my bill, and both times I had to pay more than what I expected. They charged me more because I had to do this and that, and because doing this and that i had to pay for that. It felt worse than being at a auto mechanic. They should have been more up front on all the costs they had to charge me.
They did all I asked and answer my questions, but I just felt like they didn't care about helping my dog and just thought about what they can charge me. It was not a good experience being my first veterinary clinice. I've decide not to go back to this clinic.
Dr. Boyle is awesome and definitely worth the drive from New Westminster. All the staff there are super friendly and helpful.
I've been bringing my cat here for checkups, vaccines, neutering and treatment of wounds since he was a kitten. All the staff are very nice and caring. The doctors are knowledgeable professionals and they are gentle and nice to my cat. I hope with the support from them, my cat can live a long and healthy life.
Best animal hospital i've ever been. I brought my cat to several animal hospitals but none of them did work like poco animal hospital. Everyone at Poco animal is so knowledgeable and honest.
It can't be overstated their love for animals. Before my first scheduled meeting with my puppy Wallie he had a run in with mouse droppings that contained poison. They didn't just shrug their shoulders and wait for me to come in after my initial call, they followed up diligently and for that they'll always have my trust.
Finding a place that I can trust with my fur-baby is not so easy.
I rated our experience from the front desk to Dr.Albright to a follow up call from Renee .just simply great.
There a few drop ins which can hold up the lines a bit but the front desk lady was amazing. She handled it very professionally and fast.
The best and only place I'll take my babies! They truly care about your pets. I trust them 100% and they never push unnecessary tests to make extra money.
Dr. Albright was very helpful and easy to talk to. The staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable.
My pets have been taken care off by vets from this clinic for about 10 years. I had a Lab who had surgeries there, I had a cat who we put asleep at the same hospital. I really do like their service and compassion. People please remember that doctors, vets and nurses are people with better knowledge and training than you but they are not Gods -mistakes happen. I love this hospital and I am going to see our vet with our new cat today! Have a nice experience everybody!
I'd give a negative 5 stars because no words/stars can really describe how bad/scary experience was for my 6 month old cat Leo, he had a simple neutering procedure done last Thursday Dec 15th, I was told and assured by 2 staff members at PoCo Animal Hospital that everything went well, all checked fine and safe for me to take Leo home. All seems okayed until I heard Leo meowing then screaming crazily, opened the carton carriage and saw blood everywhere. They have forgotten to remove IV catheter from him front leg, blooding was dripping from it. We're stuck in traffic, the panic was not getting help in time to save Leo.
He survived but traumatized. He's not as playful as before, not eating normally too. He panic & hides himself underneath the chair/corner whenever he hears any sound. I don't think he will be able to trust human anymore.
I just want to alert other pet owners that please DO NOT just listen to what you hear but double/triple check and exam your pets yourself carefully, make sure no needles or any foreign objects attach to your pets. Make sure you talk to your pets and watch how they react after procedures or even simple vaccines.
I recently had to bring my french bulldog Chloe in for a sebaceous cyst that turned sore and festering. The Port Coquitlam Animal hospital gave me an appointment for the same morning I called (within an hour). They assessed her and then cleaned it all up and gave her a shot to ease her discomfort. Throughout the entire process they were sympathetic towards my dog and myself, they worked efficiently and were very professional. I have been coming here for 10 years and have always had a good experience. I moved out to Surrey and tried a new vet out by my new house and quickly learned that the Port Coquitlam Animal Hospital is MUCH better then other vets so I now drive from Surrey to Port Coquitlam just for this vet! Thank you so much for taking such good care of my dog Chloe :)
Our Golden Roxy saw various vets through her 13 years, and each time we put her in the van to go to the animal hospital, she cried and whined all the way there. Then fortunately we discovered the amazing care of Dr Goodwin! We can not thank him enough for the wonderful care she received from him every visit we went to. Dr Goodwin treated Roxy like one of his own. After the 1st visit to see him, Roxy never cried enroute to her appointments again. She obviously really liked him and in fact seemed to look forward to her visit, something we'd never experienced before. I had a blanket I put on the floor of our van that I only used for vet appointments, and every time she saw me walking to the van to put it in, she'd be bouncing around, all excited! Thank you again Dr Goodwin for everything you did for Roxy. We only wish we'd brought her to see you 13 years ago. Roxy recently passed away, but we are positive she lived as long as she did thanks to the care and love she received from Dr Goodwin.
