Cute little town with some big problems. I moved here 3 years ago from Port Coquitlam and I was shocked by how different the people are here. Almost nobody will say hello back to you. The people are super nimbys. Lots of miserable retired people, social housing/benefit scumbags. Every single project or development is opposed or tied up in years of consultations. The city hall staff are all incompetent SJW. There is 1 male office staff. The funny part is that he was hired to fill the position the last male left behind and yes, he's a SJW beta male. It seems like they are on a mission to phase men out of the office. But the worst is the schools and here's why. All the kids who live east of Pitt Meadows and get expelled end up here. Makes sense considering their parents are probably commuting westward and hence, the migration of Maple Ridge's finest. And it's not just a few, there are about a dozen or so that I know of. There's even a kid from Mission! How many schools has this kid been through to end up out here? So lots of dysfunctional kids end up here in Pitt Meadows where they continue to harass and distract the local kids. Do yourself a favor, don't move to Pitt Meadows unless Hell is full.

I am currently being targeted by by-laws officer Lesley Elchuck. While she was justified in getting me to clean up a mess my son left behind after replacing a fence between me and my neighbor.
The mess was cleaned up however she continues to harass me to remove wood in my backyard that I will need to rebuild a portion of my back deck that has rotted over the years. With this heat wave and after working 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts as a traffic control I am thoroughly drained and do not have the energy to try and tackle repairing the deck.
Also at this time of the year property taxes need to be paid, which I am struggling to do, but being fined so far $300., cuts into finances I don't have.
A few years ago I had my travel trailer on the street in front of my house and was told I was breaking a by-law, yet she has been at my house to leave me her card on my door, and 3 trailers on 114B, 194b, as well as Bonson Rd South NOT hitched to a vehicle sit on the street (same as mine was) for the past 3 weeks and I don't see them being told to move them off the street. Why I ask can the break the by-law and get away with it???
Several houses on Bonson Rd South near Hammond Rd have messes of wood and other articles piled in their front yards for months and even years, why is it ok for them, but not meam I being targetedhe'll yes!!!
I am a 68 year old woman, working, not on welfare, I have removed unsightly articles, I need the materials to gradually fix my back deck, I need it accessible to do so.
I am restricted on weekends (if I am lucky to get it off) but can't start to work until 9am on Sat, and 10am on Sunday, with this heat wave, it's already too damn hot to get much done.
