The exterior could really use some work as from certain angles it looks like the building could be condemned, however, the interior is nice (if a little dated) there is a fairly pretty pool area with large rocks in the center of the building. Overall a nice place, but should be updated/remodeled
Really nice space. Excellent views of North Vancouver and the mountains. Great service at the bars and restaurants. Unfortunately price is high but worth it probably for the location.
I would not recommend this hotel; the beds were very uncomfortable, floor tiles were loose in the bathroom area; ceiling and walls were pealing, we had to walk past the smoking rooms to get to the non-smoking rooms, we were not advised of breakfast promotions until we checked out, restaurant service was slow; I had to pay for an extra day because we checked out of the hotel a few hours after their check-out time (there certainly was not a line up of people waiting to check in); I left a letter for the Manager with my name and phone number and have not received a call back (that was 10 days ago). Our stay at this hotel was not worth the money we paid.
This place could use a good cleaning. The elavator was very dirty. Doesn't rate one star.
In the entrance the roof was leaking into a bucket. At the front desk we waited for quite awhile. The manager must be blind or have no budget to fix the problems with this place.
The general aesthetic of the lobby and pool area are really cool! The restaurant area is also really well decorated and service seems great there. However the rooms themselves are something of a 2 start level. It's a mix and match of new modern furniture, TV stand, bedside tables, sink, computer chair, etc. But everything else seems the exact same as the old jade and pink/yellow aesthetic of the hotel. The AC is old but works surprisingly well. The bed is fairly stiff but it's not a big problem for me cause I can sleep pretty well anywhere. The outlet/plug placement is GARBAGE. None of them make sense and one of them didn't even work. A bug or two managed to work it's way into our room due to no screen being in the window, they have a small fridge but no microwave, and the bathroom feels too big and quite empty. There's no closet/cubby at the start of the room, it's around the corner by the bed, and no ethernet cord, you have to use WiFi for your laptop. Which is fairly good! But fluctuates severely at times, especially during peak hours.
Clean and comfortable beds. The rest of the hotel needs updating. Fresh new paint would be a start both inside and out. A/C had a tough time keeping up with keeping the room cool at night. Breakfast was great for the price (free). Friendly staff.
Breakfast was edible, but barely, and towels were hard to come by. Our hallway constantly smelled like smoke even though it's non smoking. Pool was nice: nice idea but cold and under filled. Rooms either had an indoor or outdoor balcony which was nice. Overall the experience was just okay.
We stayed for a Saturday night on our way through to downtown Vancouver. I read the reviews before booking online, and was expecting to see our room in good repair/updated as was promised to the reviews of two months ago. Instead, the room had duct tape holding the carpet at the threshold, and the air conditioning held no comfort whatsoever. There was a two-by-four jutting out from the box springs on one bed. However, the room, and hotel, were reasonably clean. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The pool area had an attendant who was bright and cheerful. I did not venture into the bar or dining room, but the bar was busy at night and the breakfast looked packed as I was leaving. I imagine the staff has shown great improvement vs. previous reviews, but the zero dollar maintenance is going to bury the place. Would I stay there again? no. My wife disagrees, thinks they deserve another chance. I will endorse the staff, as I'm sure they work very hard to keep customers satisfied.
Great room, amazing lobby very beautiful, felt like a resort in mexico!!! Warm friendly staff!
We booked a room here for an event in Langley. We call the day of the reservation to confirm and all was good. Upon arrival we were told we needed a $500 deposit and were sent out in the rain to miss our event. (Front desk lady was lovely however the manager was not a nice person at all) better hotels for less 5 mins down the Rd.
Terrible, Not even worth one star.
When confronting the staff about there unappetizing buffet and returning the full plates i was still given a bill for $60. When i confronted the staff about not paying the bill the manager came out and told me i didn't have the right to complain about their food. a verbal fight broke out between myself and the manager in front of the entire restaurant. After which I escorted my entire family (20+ ppl (including my grandmother)) out and refuse to ever return.
If you can stomach the smell of chlorine as you eat. And you don't mind being served garbage food and paying $25 per plate and not have the right to file complaint, then this is the place for you!
I would definitely recommend this place if you are stupid enough to actually go.
Rooms were clean and tidy, staff were friendly. The pool with the skylight was really nice. Gave the area a more tropical feel, even though it was snowing out. Loved the rooms with the verandas, although we didn't stay in one.
We spent 3 nights here recently. The front desk staff and houskeeping were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and you could control the temperature. loved the balcony overlooking the pool, which was beautiful. The restaurant I would give a 2.. very slow. Food was not hot and they were out of a lot of the choices. ONLY other downfall was half the pool was closed for swimming lessons from 10-3. Kinda weird. Will definitely be back.
