  Fantastic store absolutely love it, the staff really helpful. They are not posers pretending to sell items there actual users of the equipment. Never had a problem with returns ever at MEC been a member for 32 years.

  First stop for everything outdoors. Their "rock solid" warranty is trouble free. I've had gear repaired on the spot and received store credit for other stuff. Big stuff too, like tents and bags. Passionate folks work here, not an attitude in the place. Pleasure doing business EVERYTIME. Even when I'm waiting 10-15 minutes for a department member to finish with another customer, I know I will also get that amount of time of undivided attention.

  Great place to shop, knowledgeable staff. Always busy, items are slightly scattered when it comes to clothes. Awesome price and the items are pretty decent. The store brand items are comparable to name brands. I was turned off for years about the "members only" but I finally did it and realised I get a 15% military discount. One time only $5 fee for membership. 4 stars for the feeling of not fitting in, 5 for a pretty darn neat place.

  Terrific service by Michael (Mikey) Cox last week in the MEC cycling department. I had an issue trying to get the heart rate sensor working on a cycling computer I had bought from MEC some time ago. Everything had been working fine, but then it just stopped.
  
  After some trouble shooting with Michael, he just offered to swap out the comp and heart rate band for new ones - no questions asked. New one works great and I'm off to the races again. Many thanks for standing behind your products and the great customer service Michael.
  
  I should also add that during the exchange transaction at the till, Ally (or perhaps Alli) was also very friendly and efficient. I've always had great service at this location - keep up the great work everyone!

  No Im not ok without a bag. No I don't want to buy a re usable bag. Yes I do want a plastic bag so that I don't have to carry my 3 items around downtown with me all day.
  
  And yes I don't mind paying 5 cents for it and yes I will be re using it when I bring it home.

  People say that MEC is overpriced and that the staff aren't nice, but I've personally never seen that side of things and I really like the store. It's a great place if you need camping equipment, looking to get into rock climbing, thinking about upgrading your earthquake kit etc etc. MEC has something for everyone.

  Great service helped me navigate the wide range of selection. There's so much packed into this little spot! Some things not easy to find (like gloves in a few different sections), but staff were ready to help and very knowledge about their products. The product signage is helpful too (e.g. are there taped seams on a jacket). Clothes fit a wider range of body types than some similar stores. Prices are reasonable and there were some amazing deals with sale prices.
