This place is not a hotel! We were really surprised when we arrived here. It is a small and dated building. There is no real lobby here. You enter a tiny entrance with a small front desk and one receptionist to check you in. There is no one to help with the luggage. There are a few stairs that connect the "lobby" and the elevator which makes this place wheelchair/stroller-unfriendly. The elevator, lobby and walkways are all dated and very unclean.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and thankfully the room was renovated and clean. The balcony was terribly dirty and useless though.
There's no parking structure on site. The front desk issued a pass for a parking lot one block away from the building. It is an open lot shared with a car repair shop. We had to leave our car outside in downtown the entire night which didn't feel safe at all. I stripped the car and left all compartments open with lights on to discourage break-ins. Still I was so relieved when I found my car safe in the morning.
All in all, I think you can find better places for this price. I appreciate the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the front desk. Unfortunately I won't return though.

Good food, poor hotel.
We booked for an overnight and ate supper at the bar.
Bar: Service was good, food was good, no complaints, recommended.
Hotel: Room was nice, kitchenette, however there was no AC, the provided fan didn't work, we had to wait an hour because we were told it wasn't cleaned yet, and when we did get in, there was a piece of CHEWED GUM in the coffee maker (filter holder) and a candy wrapper behind the nightstand.
NOT recommended.

Swans restaurant has lots of room for comfortable seating. As they are located on a corner, the entire dining are is surrounded by windows which was very nice. There was a good selection of local beers available on tap as well.

The brewpub is delicious, the beer is tasty, and the hotel's rooms are adorable and very nice, BUT the walls are paper thin and you can hear every conversation your neighbors have, plus the music playing (very, very loudly) at night in the restaurant's kitchen below.

Stay here for the suite style rooms with full kitchens and short walks to everywhere, just don't expect bedtime before 11pm or the ability to ignore the neighbor's screaming baby.

On the plus side, the staff is very friendly and knowledgable, and will try to solve any problems you have (RE: kitchen noise).

Great location. Walking distance to the Inner Harbour, boutiques, thrift stores. Hotel parking challenging. No on site parking. Pay parking available a block down the street. Check in pleasant and friendly. Elevator to room very slow, a wait of 5 minutes for the elevator to arrive. Two bedroom suite. Nicely stocked with everything you would need. Dishes, utensils, ice cubes in freezer. Towels very minimal, could definitely have used more. Quality of towels lower grade, expected a better quality. TV smaller, again expected a higher quality unit. Welcome package indicates DVDs available at front desk but no DVD player available. Very limited electrical outlets to charge phones . Two bedrooms upstairs. No bathroom on second level. Would have liked to know that on website. Having to travel down a staircase in the dark to use a washroom at 2 in the morning is definitely an experience. No convenient outlets to charge electronics in the master bedroom. Bed comfortable and clean. Pleasant stay, friendly. No staff really go out of their way to go the extra mile. We lugged our luggage from the parking lot with no assistance, including our groceries to stock the room. A very long walk. An enjoyable stay but wouldn't recommend or stay here again. 250.00 a night, not bad for a two bedroom suite in downtown Victoria but quirky things like not having adequate electrical outlets, no offers of helping us with our luggage, lower quality towels, very limited, tiny toiletries supplied would make us choose a different hotel next time.

Very clean and comfortable suite. We rented a room above the brewpub and the ambient noise was not an issue. Front desk was friendly and responded to our requests very efficirntly. Location was superb, I am very happy with my stay at Swans.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. They have a variety of rooms that will suit your needs. I have stayed here on multiple occasions by myself and with friends and have stayed in a couple different rooms and have never been disappointed. The rooms are spacious and have everything you will need for your getaway. The staff is super friendly and always there to assist you with anything you might need. The hotel location is great for travellers as its close to EVERYTHING. Like I said previously I have stayed here multiple times and will always choose to stay here due to great service.
